📋 Description

• Develop clean, efficient, and scalable backend code using NestJS and TypeScript to support Almedia’s AdTech platform serving millions of users.
• Design and implement high-performance web services using GraphQL, REST, and gRPC protocols to enable seamless integration between internal systems and external advertiser platforms.
• Integrate external services for A/B testing and feature flagging to create a data-driven product environment that optimizes user engagement and ad performance.
• Build and maintain distributed systems using microservices architecture with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration and deployment.
• Utilize RabbitMQ and Google Pub/Sub for asynchronous message processing and event-driven workflows across the platform.
• Manage and optimize data storage and retrieval using MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and BigQuery to support real-time analytics and large-scale data operations.
• Implement and monitor system health and performance using Datadog for observability, alerting, and incident response.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD to ensure rapid, reliable, and repeatable deployments across development, staging, and production environments.
• Actively use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity and code quality in daily workflows.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, frontend, and data teams to deliver scalable features that align with business goals and user needs.
• Take full ownership of backend components from design and development through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Ensure all code is testable, well-documented, and adheres to high-quality standards with Jest and other testing frameworks.
• Contribute to DevOps and SRE practices including infrastructure as code, monitoring, and incident remediation to improve system reliability and uptime.
• Work from Almedia’s central Berlin office, designed for collaboration, with access to fully-stocked kitchen, breakfasts, lunches, and modern workspaces.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience in web development with TypeScript and NestJS
• Production experience with MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and BigQuery
• Proven track record with microservices architecture and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
• Ownership mindset with ability to independently manage end-to-end backend systems
• Strong English communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration
• Experience using AI tools like Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in development workflows
