- • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems that power Coins.ph’s cryptocurrency trading and financial services platform serving over 18 million users.
- • Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices to support seamless user experiences across mobile and web interfaces.
- • Collaborate with product and frontend teams to translate business requirements into robust, high-performance backend solutions.
- • Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data encryption protocols to comply with BSP regulations and protect user financial data.
- • Integrate with third-party financial gateways, blockchain nodes, and payment processors to enable crypto buy/sell, fiat on/off ramps, and electronic money issuance.
- • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure low-latency transactions and high system availability.
- • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and sprint planning to maintain code quality and team alignment.
- • Debug and resolve production issues rapidly, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code using industry best practices and version control workflows.
- • Stay current with emerging backend technologies, blockchain infrastructure developments, and financial technology trends in the Asian market.
- • Work within a fully regulated environment under the oversight of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), adhering to strict compliance and audit requirements.
- • Contribute to the evolution of Coins.ph’s architecture as it scales to support new financial products and expanded user bases across Southeast Asia.
- • Partner with DevOps teams to deploy and manage services using containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
- • Ensure all backend systems meet the technical standards required for holding both Virtual Currency and Electronic Money Issuer licenses from a central bank.
- • Proactively identify security vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies aligned with financial industry standards.
- • Document system architecture, data flows, and operational procedures for internal knowledge sharing and regulatory audits.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proficient in backend programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, or Node.js
- • Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and microservices in high-traffic environments
- • Knowledge of database systems (SQL and/or NoSQL) and performance optimization techniques
- • Understanding of financial systems, payment processing, or blockchain infrastructure
- • Experience working in regulated financial environments or with compliance standards (e.g., KYC, AML)
- • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
