Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • • Waymark is redefining how Medicaid members receive mental-health care, and you can be the licensed clinician who turns that vision into daily reality. As a Behavioral Health Therapist, you will own a panel of members across Ohio, providing evidence-based therapy via secure video and, when clinically appropriate, brief in-person visits. You will be the steady, trusted presence who helps people navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, substance-use disorders, and the social stressors that compound them.
  • • Every week you will conduct intake assessments, develop person-centered treatment plans, and deliver individual, family, or group therapy sessions. You will draw on CBT, DBT, MI, and trauma-informed modalities, tailoring interventions to each member’s culture, language, and life context. Progress notes and risk assessments will be completed same-day in Waymark’s HIPAA-compliant EHR so that primary-care, psychiatry, and community-based teams can coordinate seamlessly around the member.
  • • You will serve as the clinical quarterback for members with complex needs. When a member is hospitalized, you will join huddles with discharge planners to ensure warm handoffs. When housing instability threatens treatment adherence, you will loop in Waymark’s community health workers and external partners to secure shelter or rental assistance. Your documentation will feed real-time dashboards that alert care teams to missed appointments, medication gaps, or escalating risk scores.
  • • Data-driven reflection is part of the culture. Each month you will review outcome metrics—PHQ-9, GAD-7, and proprietary engagement indices—with your clinical supervisor and peers. Together you will identify which techniques are moving the needle and which need refinement. You will also co-design new clinical protocols, pilot them with a small cohort, and iterate based on feedback from members and colleagues.
  • • Waymark’s model is built on trust and accessibility. You will offer evening and weekend hours that fit members’ work schedules, and you will meet them where they are—literally. If a member lacks reliable Wi-Fi, you may conduct a session from a local library or partner clinic. You will maintain a flexible caseload of 45–55 active members, adjusting capacity as acuity shifts.
  • • Collaboration extends beyond direct care. You will present case studies in weekly interdisciplinary rounds alongside primary-care physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, and peer recovery coaches. You will train community health workers on motivational interviewing techniques and co-lead psycho-education workshops for members and families. Your insights will inform product teams as they refine the telehealth platform and AI-driven risk algorithms.
  • • Professional growth is baked in. You will receive weekly 1:1 supervision from an LISW-S, monthly group consultation with a national expert in trauma-focused CBT, and an annual stipend for continuing education. You will have protected time to pursue specialized certifications (e.g., EMDR, perinatal mental health) and to publish or present findings at state and national conferences.
  • • Impact is measurable and meaningful. Within your first year you will help reduce psychiatric readmissions by 20 %, improve therapy engagement rates to 80 %, and close critical behavioral-health gaps for hundreds of Ohioans who have historically been underserved. You will see the difference in real time: a mother regaining custody of her children, a young adult returning to school, a senior citizen reconnecting with family after years of isolation.
  • • You will embody Waymark’s values of humility, curiosity, and anti-racism. You will participate in quarterly equity audits, contribute to language-access initiatives, and advocate for policies that dismantle structural barriers to care. Your voice will shape not only individual outcomes but also the broader system in which Medicaid members live and heal.
