- • The Bilingual Benefits & Leave Specialist supports and governs Giant Tiger’s Total Rewards programs, focusing on Tier 2 benefits, life and disability administration, policy governance, and compliance to ensure accurate, scalable, and employee-centric programs.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include managing complex Tier 2 benefits inquiries, administering life and disability programs, developing pay equity plans, maintaining total rewards policies, coordinating annual benefits enrollment, overseeing retirement plan governance, establishing employee perks, and creating training resources for HR and business teams.
- • As part of Giant Tiger’s store support team, this role directly impacts stores nationwide by ensuring benefits programs are compliant, effective, and aligned with the company’s mission to help Canadians save more every day through community-rooted retail excellence.
- • The Specialist will develop expertise in Canadian provincial legislation, benefits program administration, pay equity compliance, and vendor management while gaining experience in policy development, data analysis, and stakeholder collaboration within a growing national retailer.
🎯 Requirements
- • Completion of post-secondary education in HR
- • 3-5 years’ experience working with a variety of group benefits programs
- • Bilingual (English/French) proficiency required for interacting with employees across Canada, including Quebec and CNESST
- • Intermediate knowledge of provincial legislation Canada-wide, including pay equity
- • Excellent analytical skills with ability to distill large quantities of data into meaningful formats
- • Proven strong interpersonal and communication skills with an empathetic approach for sensitive situations
