  • • As a Billing Support Specialist II at Rula Health, you will play a critical role in ensuring patients receive accurate and timely resolution of complex billing issues, directly impacting access to mental healthcare and reducing financial barriers to treatment.
  • • You will investigate and resolve escalated billing concerns by collaborating with patients, insurance providers, internal teams, and external partners, using your expertise to navigate insurance claims, benefit terminology, and patient billing questions with precision and empathy.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities include managing a high-volume queue of billing cases across phone, email, and chat channels, independently receiving, analyzing, and resolving complex or escalated support issues with strong follow-through and meticulous documentation.
  • • You will communicate clearly and professionally with cross-functional stakeholders—including clinical teams, revenue cycle partners, vendors, and insurance companies—to troubleshoot workflows, escalate when necessary, and drive process improvements that enhance the overall patient experience.
  • • You will maintain exceptional organization and attention to detail while prioritizing multiple competing demands in a fast-paced, remote-first environment, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and consistency in all billing interactions and records.
  • • You will contribute to strengthening Rula’s billing operations by identifying trends, sharing insights, and helping refine resources, guidance, and standard operating procedures that support scalable, high-quality billing support across the organization.

  • • In this role, you will develop advanced expertise in healthcare revenue cycle operations, behavioral health billing nuances, and stakeholder management—positioning yourself for growth into senior support, process improvement, or operations leadership roles within healthcare or health tech.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 2+ years of experience in medical billing, healthcare billing support, or revenue cycle operations, including hands-on work with insurance claims, billing follow-up, benefit terminology, and patient billing inquiries
  • • Proven experience in a queue-based or ticket-based omnichannel support environment (phone, email, chat) where the majority of time is spent directly handling case volume and resolving patient-facing issues
  • • Demonstrated ability to independently receive, investigate, and resolve complex or escalated billing issues using sound judgment, strong follow-through, and clear, accurate documentation
  • • Experience communicating effectively with cross-functional partners and external stakeholders, including patients, insurance companies, vendors, and internal teams, to resolve multifaceted billing workflows
  • • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced setting, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high quality and compliance standards
