- • About Brain Co.: Brain Co. is at the forefront of Applied AI, a dynamic startup founded by visionary leaders Elad Gil and Jared Kushner. We are backed by a stellar group of Silicon Valley's most influential builders, including Patrick Collison (CEO of Stripe), Andrej Karpathy (Cofounder of OpenAI), Mike Krieger (CPO of Anthropic), Kevin Weil (CPO of OpenAI), and Aravind Srinivas (CEO of Perplexity). Our mission is to develop an AI platform and applications that deliver tangible impact for the world's most significant institutions, addressing real-world problems with cutting-edge technology. Our achievements to date speak volumes: we've automated construction permitting for a sovereign government, achieving an 80% improvement in speed and unlocking an estimated $375 million in value. We've optimized supply chains for a leading global energy company, resulting in a 30% cost reduction and 99% reliability, preventing over $100 million in potential losses. Furthermore, we've streamlined hospital patient care across national health systems, leading to 40% better outcomes and an 80% reduction in administrative work. We have successfully raised a $30 million Series A funding round from top-tier investors and assembled a formidable team of 40 AI experts drawn from prestigious organizations like Tesla, Google DeepMind, NVIDIA, and Databricks. At Brain Co., your contributions will have immediate real-world deployment, moving beyond theoretical research. We operate at an accelerated pace, experiencing demand that outstrips our current capacity, and are actively seeking exceptional individuals eager to take ownership from day one.

This is a pivotal, high-impact role situated at the critical intersection of strategy, operations, and execution. You will be instrumental in driving clarity, fostering alignment, and enabling scale across Brain Co.'s most vital initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to partner directly with the executive team and cross-functional leads, shaping our strategic direction, designing and optimizing core business processes, and ensuring the flawless execution of company-wide priorities. This position is perfectly suited for an individual who thrives in environments characterized by ambiguity, can fluidly transition between high-level strategic discussions and hands-on operational tasks, and possesses the unique ability to bridge ambitious strategic vision with rigorous operational discipline.
- • Key Responsibilities:
- • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Identify, meticulously scope, and lead mission-critical projects that are fundamental to defining Brain Co.'s future growth trajectory across product development, go-to-market strategies, and operational infrastructure.
- • Support Executive Decision-Making: Collaborate closely with leadership on critical strategic planning activities, provide robust support for fundraising efforts, prepare essential board materials, and assist in crafting compelling investor communications.
- • Build Scalable Systems: Design, develop, and implement robust frameworks and systems that promote operational excellence across all key functions, including finance, go-to-market operations, talent acquisition, and strategic partnerships.
- • Operationalize Insights: Skillfully translate complex data sets and analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations, ensuring that all strategic initiatives yield measurable and significant business impact.
- • Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the essential connective tissue between product, engineering, go-to-market, and operations teams, fostering strong alignment, clear communication, and unwavering accountability across the organization.
- • Execution at Speed: Lead by example, demonstrating a proactive and hands-on approach to ensure that projects are not only meticulously designed but also executed to the highest standards within aggressive and demanding timelines.
- • What We're Looking For:
- • Experience: A minimum of 12-15 years of progressive professional experience is required. A strong background in top-tier management consulting (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG) and/or investment banking/private equity is highly desirable. Proven operating experience within high-growth startups, with a demonstrated ability to scale systems and processes effectively under significant pressure, is essential.
- • Track Record: A clear and demonstrable track record of owning and successfully delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives that have resulted in material and measurable business impact.
- • Skills & Attributes:
- • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities, with a proven ability to distill complex challenges into clear, actionable insights.
- • Executive-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence senior stakeholders, internal teams, and external partners.
- • A hands-on, low-ego approach, demonstrating a willingness to roll up your sleeves and drive progress in ambiguous, high-velocity environments.
- • Strong financial and operational fluency, with a solid understanding of key metrics, financial modeling, and business KPIs.
- • A pronounced bias for action and a strong sense of ownership, ensuring projects are seen through from initial strategy conception to successful execution.
- • Location & Work Arrangement: The role requires the candidate to be based in San Francisco or willing to relocate. We operate on a hybrid work model, with a requirement of three days per week in the office.
- • Why Join Us:
- • Impactful Work: Drive strategy and execution for a pioneering Applied AI company tackling some of the world's most consequential challenges.
- • Leadership Access: Work directly alongside a world-class leadership team and collaborate with esteemed investors.
