- • Serve as the focal point for capturing, analyzing, and managing functional and non-functional system requirements and user stories in an Agile or SAFe environment.
- • Facilitate backlog refinement sessions to ensure work items are clearly defined, prioritized, and ready for implementation by development teams.
- • Collaborate with Product Owners to align backlog priorities with business objectives, roadmap goals, and mission requirements.
- • Decompose features into actionable user stories within the product backlog for iterative development cycles.
- • Work closely with ScrumMasters to establish sprint backlogs, resolve impediments, and provide clear direction on scope of work.
- • Define and maintain detailed acceptance criteria (AC) to enable Test Driven Development and ensure completed work meets defined standards.
- • Verify understanding of requirements with Product Owners and Functional SMEs, translating business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams.
- • Support future iteration planning by elaborating upcoming work items and ensuring their readiness for upcoming sprints.
- • Lead stakeholder demonstrations following each software iteration and report on outcomes and results.
- • Maintain traceability of requirements, identify dependencies, and ensure documentation of stories and acceptance criteria is complete and accurate.
- • Possess a working understanding of software development practices and technologies alongside real-world mission and business objectives.
- • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment on scope, deliverables, and expected outcomes.
- • Participate in PI Planning events and contribute to cross-functional team alignment on objectives and deliverables.
- • Utilize MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint for documentation, planning, and reporting.
- • Travel up to 10% locally as needed to support team collaboration and stakeholder engagements.
- • Maintain an active U.S. Department of Defense Secret clearance and comply with all background investigation requirements including a 3-year felony check, 1-year illegal drug use check, and 1-year misconduct review.
🎯 Requirements
- • U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- • Minimum five (5+) years of experience as a business analyst on iterative software development projects
- • Demonstrated experience with Agile or SAFe methodologies
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- • Proficiency with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint
