• • We are actively seeking a talented and motivated Business Analyst (Appian) to join our team for a full-time, remote position. This role is crucial in supporting the Department of Labor (DoL) and offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant projects within a supportive and growth-oriented environment. • • In this role, your day-to-day activities will be multifaceted and instrumental to the agile development lifecycle. You will be responsible for meticulously reviewing user stories within the backlog, ensuring a profound understanding of the required changes and enhancements. A key aspect of your role will involve close collaboration with Product Owners to gain clarity on user stories and necessary updates, translating their vision into actionable requirements. You will meticulously document acceptance criteria for both user stories and bug tickets, providing clear guidelines for the development team.
• • Furthermore, you will act as a vital liaison between the Product Owners and the Developers, helping the development team comprehend the user stories and acceptance criteria. You will lead discussions regarding new functionality, ensuring alignment and facilitating smooth development processes. Your responsibilities will extend to testing user stories, rigorously verifying that they meet the defined criteria and ensuring that all testing is appropriately documented with clear evidence recorded. This hands-on testing ensures the quality and integrity of the delivered software.
• • As a key member of our agile team, you will serve as a Scrum Master, leading daily scrums to maintain project momentum and facilitate communication. You will proactively develop agendas for backlog grooming sessions, securing concurrence with Product Owners to ensure efficient and productive meetings. You will then lead these backlog grooming sessions, guiding the team in refining and prioritizing the product backlog. Your leadership will also be evident on demo days, where you will present completed stories to the Product Owners, showcasing progress and gathering feedback.
• • Beyond the immediate development cycle, you will play a critical role in stakeholder engagement. This includes training stakeholders on new functionality, ensuring they are equipped to utilize the latest features effectively. You will also be responsible for documenting existing business processes and any changes implemented, maintaining a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge base. Updating requirements documentation and user manuals will be ongoing tasks, ensuring that all project-related documentation remains current and accurate. This comprehensive approach to documentation and stakeholder enablement is vital for project success and long-term maintainability. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of the systems we develop for the Department of Labor, making this a highly impactful and rewarding position.
