📋 Description
- • As a Business Analyst Expert at Equinix, Inc., you will be instrumental in driving strategic improvements and operational excellence across the organization. You will leverage your deep analytical expertise to dissect complex business challenges, identify critical process gaps, and formulate actionable recommendations that enhance efficiency and deliver significant customer value. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of digital infrastructure by ensuring our operations are streamlined, effective, and aligned with Equinix's mission to shorten the path to connectivity and enable groundbreaking innovations. You will be a key player in managing and executing large-scale projects, often spanning regional or cross-regional initiatives, contributing directly to Equinix's position as the world's digital infrastructure company.
- • In this dynamic role, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a wide array of analytical and project management tasks. You will meticulously determine and apply the most appropriate methodologies and tools to analyze a diverse range of complex functional and cross-functional issues, often characterized by ambiguity. A core part of your function will be to provide well-reasoned recommendations that thoughtfully consider the needs of various cross-functional teams, ensuring buy-in and successful adoption. You will proactively identify process gaps and operational issues, proposing concrete areas for improvement and assessing the impact of existing manual workarounds. When appropriate, you will determine and utilize methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma to drive process optimization. A significant aspect of your role involves facilitating critical discussions, driving resolution among stakeholders, and knowing when to escalate issues to ensure progress. You will also be responsible for creating, managing, and leading larger project plans and resources, executing them with precision using industry-standard tools and techniques. This includes driving alignment with stakeholders from the initial problem identification through to implementation and post-implementation monitoring, ensuring clear and consistent communication of team progress. You will develop comprehensive scope documents, project charters, and stakeholder analyses, applying best practices in project management, including Lean Six Sigma principles. Furthermore, you will proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, recommending suitable mitigation plans to keep projects on track.
- • Your responsibilities extend to conducting thorough cost-benefit analyses, meticulously comparing pre- and post-implementation results, and proposing recommendations for further improvement to ensure expected benefits are realized. You will also play a crucial role in coaching and mentoring junior team members and internal staff, providing essential feedback, guidance, and advice. In some instances, you may act in an advisory capacity to individuals pursuing Lean Six Sigma certifications. A key part of your role involves managing process and procedural documentation, completing post-deployment analysis, and monitoring project outcomes to provide recommendations for continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for assessing post-project benefits and overall success. In terms of reporting and metrics, you will lead status reporting, clearly highlighting risks, issues, and concerns to relevant stakeholders. You will make data-driven recommendations for improvement based on report results and create and publish complex dashboards to visualize performance and trends. You will champion changes that enable customer benefits, assess priorities based on agreed organizational criteria, and support the drive for consistency and alignment across different functional teams. You will recommend alternative solutions, escalating where disagreements persist, and lead cross-functional discussions to address challenges and drive prioritization efforts. You will manage moderate levels of conflict, escalating when necessary to ensure smooth project progression.
- • Furthermore, you will excel in obtaining, creating, and documenting business requirements by engaging multiple stakeholders, including creating Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and managing their cross-functional and cross-regional reviews. You will collaborate closely with Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) and development teams on solution design and development, assessing solutions from multiple angles and recommending alternatives. You will review functional designs, working hand-in-hand with BSAs and DEV teams to ensure solutions precisely meet requirements. You will partner with stakeholders to analyze, define, and document business processes within and across functional areas, utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodology to design or improve business processes and facilitating workshops to drive agreement. Finally, you will manage stakeholder expectations within and/or across functions, potentially working with governance boards or steering committees. You will proactively identify and include the correct stakeholders, communicating effectively and understanding their needs to build strong relationships. You will also lead user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring it is fully planned and executed, developing and assigning test cases, identifying testing resources, and assessing testing progress.
