Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • This role is pivotal in safeguarding Adyen's financial performance by meticulously overseeing fee reconciliation and monitoring across a diverse range of payment methods, including issuing, card-based, and alternative payment solutions. You will act as the primary subject matter expert on intricate fee structures for major providers such as Klarna, Mastercard, and Visa, ensuring the robust financial stability of Adyen’s transactional cost engines. Your responsibilities extend beyond traditional accounting, focusing on proactive identification of cost anomalies, pinpointing and mitigating (net) revenue leakage, and driving the standardization and automation of reconciliation processes across all cost engines. By enhancing our reporting capabilities and generating critical insights, you will play a key role in maintaining the stability and predictability of our net revenue. This position is instrumental in reinforcing Adyen's unwavering commitment to financial integrity and guaranteeing the absolute accuracy of supplier charges, thereby contributing directly to the company's overall financial health and operational efficiency.
  • Your day-to-day activities will involve ensuring that Adyen is charged accurately by its suppliers, which include major card schemes and various alternative payment methods. This will be achieved by leveraging data analytics to detect any discrepancies between predicted fees and the actual invoices received. A significant part of your role will be to collaborate closely with product teams to standardize and develop scalable reconciliation processes that can effectively manage card-based payment methods, alternative payment methods, and issuing operations. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining sophisticated monitoring frameworks designed to detect anomalies in supplier charging patterns, thereby proactively preventing any potential (net) revenue leakage. You will take ownership of closing the reconciliation gap that exists between internal systems like IC++, blend, and alternative payment methods such as Klarna and Affirm, ensuring financial alignment. Furthermore, you will work cross-functionally with teams such as Payment Partnerships and Product to ensure the accuracy of buy-side pricing, which is particularly crucial for alternative payment methods. A core responsibility will be to analyze and identify the specific data required to address financial variances, meticulously extract this data, and perform in-depth analysis to understand the root causes. You will also implement automated triggers to provide timely alerts to the Finance team regarding any unexpected cost spikes, enabling swift intervention. Finally, you will continuously seek opportunities to improve, suggest, and develop automation and tooling solutions that bridge the gap between raw transaction data and the complex financial reconciliation processes, thereby enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
  • You will be joining the Group Finance team, a dynamic and integral part of Adyen's operations based in Amsterdam. This team is dedicated to maintaining the financial integrity and stability of the company. You will collaborate closely with a variety of global teams, including Product, Engineering, Accounting, and Partnerships, fostering a cross-functional and collaborative work environment. Adyen is a company engineered for ambition, and this is reflected in our culture, which provides opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the support to truly own their careers. We are a group of motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team, delivering innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.
  • In this role, you will have the opportunity to become a recognized expert in the complex world of payment fee structures and financial reconciliation. You will gain deep insights into Adyen's financial operations and the intricacies of various payment methods. By driving automation and process improvements, you can significantly impact the efficiency and accuracy of the finance function. This position offers a unique chance to develop your analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, high-growth FinTech environment, working with cutting-edge technology and collaborating with talented professionals across different departments. You will contribute directly to the financial health and predictability of a leading global payment platform, enhancing your professional development and career trajectory within the finance and technology sectors.
  • The role demands a highly analytical individual with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be instrumental in ensuring that Adyen's financial transactions are accurate and that potential revenue leakage is identified and addressed promptly. Your ability to translate complex financial data and technical requirements into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders will be crucial. This position offers a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of the payments industry, develop expertise in financial reconciliation, and contribute to the strategic financial operations of a rapidly growing global company. You will be empowered to take initiative, drive improvements, and make a tangible impact on Adyen's financial stability and growth, all within a supportive and ambitious team environment.
