• • As a Business Analyst (Appian) at Horizon Industries, Limited, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions, specifically within the context of supporting the General Services Administration (GSA).
• • You will be instrumental in the full lifecycle of IT consulting and management support, contributing to both private and public sector projects, with a strong emphasis on Appian platform development and enhancement.
• • Your primary responsibility will involve meticulously reviewing user stories within the product backlog, ensuring a profound understanding of the required changes and their implications.
• • You will collaborate closely with Product Owners to refine user stories, clarify requirements, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives and user needs.
• • A key duty will be to meticulously document acceptance criteria for user stories and bug tickets, providing clear, unambiguous guidelines for development and testing teams.
• • You will act as a crucial liaison between Product Owners and Developers, facilitating clear communication and understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria, and leading discussions on new functionality.
• • Your role will extend to actively testing user stories, verifying that they meet the defined acceptance criteria and ensuring that all testing activities are thoroughly documented with supporting evidence.
• • You will serve as a Scrum Master, leading daily stand-up meetings (scrums) to ensure team alignment, identify impediments, and promote efficient workflow within the Agile framework.
• • You will be responsible for developing agendas for backlog grooming sessions, securing concurrence from Product Owners to ensure productive and focused discussions.
• • Leading backlog grooming sessions with Product Owners will be a core function, ensuring the backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development sprints.
• • You will lead demo days, effectively showcasing completed user stories and new functionalities to Product Owners and stakeholders, gathering feedback for iterative improvements.
• • A significant part of your role will involve training stakeholders on new functionalities and system enhancements, ensuring smooth adoption and effective utilization of the developed solutions.
• • You will be tasked with documenting existing business processes and any changes or improvements implemented, creating a comprehensive knowledge base.
• • Maintaining and updating requirements documentation will be an ongoing responsibility, ensuring that all project documentation is current and accurate.
• • You will also be responsible for updating user manuals and other end-user documentation to reflect system changes and new features.
• • This role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for business process and system analysis, design, improvement, and implementation support.
• • You will translate complex business process needs into clear, actionable technical requirements, providing essential change management and training support to facilitate successful adoption.
