  • • Drive new revenue for Forbes Advisor’s Small Business vertical by sourcing, pitching, and closing performance-marketing partnerships that serve millions of entrepreneurs and decision-makers. You will be the engine behind our fastest-growing segment, turning cold leads into long-term, high-value relationships.
  • • Own the full partnership lifecycle—from first touch to renewal. You’ll identify high-intent prospects via LinkedIn, industry events, and inbound referrals; craft tailored outreach that speaks to each partner’s KPIs; and shepherd every deal through legal, finance, and ad-ops so campaigns launch flawlessly and on time.
  • • Build and manage a robust pipeline in HubSpot (or similar CRM), forecasting monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue with >90 % accuracy. You’ll report directly to the Director of Business Development, presenting pipeline health, win/loss insights, and upsell opportunities in weekly stand-ups and monthly board reviews.
  • • Serve as the quarterback for onboarding: collect creative assets, pixels, and brand guidelines; confirm tracking and brand-safety specs with third-party ad-verification vendors; and translate client objectives into clear insertion orders that our trafficking team can execute without rework.
  • • Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, SEO, product, and analytics teams to design media plans that align content sponsorships, lead-gen offers, and affiliate placements with Forbes Advisor’s editorial calendar and traffic forecasts—maximizing both partner ROI and reader value.
  • • Optimize live campaigns in real time. You’ll monitor pacing, CTR, conversion rate, and LTV dashboards daily; flag under-performers; and coordinate rapid creative refreshes, audience tweaks, or bid adjustments to hit CPA and ROAS targets agreed upon at kickoff.
  • • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with top-tier partners, showcasing performance wins, proposing upsells (newsletter placements, exclusive content, co-branded webinars), and securing renewals six to nine months ahead of contract expiration to lock in predictable revenue.
  • • Champion SMB market intelligence. You’ll attend SaaS, fintech, and e-commerce conferences; subscribe to industry newsletters; and maintain a living database of competitor pricing, product launches, and M&A activity—turning insights into sharper pitches and differentiated positioning.
  • • Streamline internal workflows by documenting SOPs for insertion-order creation, creative-handoff checklists, and billing-reconciliation templates—reducing campaign-launch time by 20 % within your first six months and freeing the team to focus on higher-value strategic work.
  • • Mentor junior associates and interns, sharing best practices for cold-email copywriting, objection handling, and Salesforce hygiene—cultivating a culture of continuous learning that elevates the entire Business Development organization.
  • • Uphold Forbes’ editorial integrity and brand standards in every partnership, ensuring sponsored content is clearly labeled, fact-checked, and aligned with our mission of helping consumers and small-business owners make smarter financial decisions.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 1–3 years of affiliate marketing, performance marketing, or business-development experience in the SMB vertical
  • • Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume pipeline and juggle multiple accounts without letting details slip
  • • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills—comfortable pitching C-suite executives one minute and trafficking pixels with ad-ops the next
  • • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and compelling slide design are daily tools)
  • • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field—or equivalent professional experience
