- • The Business Development Intern role at Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company is a 12-month paid, fully remote opportunity designed to provide hands-on exposure to advisor recruiting, relationship development, and professional services business growth within the financial services industry.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with advisor prospecting and list building using approved databases and LinkedIn, supporting outreach preparation by tracking responses and maintaining prospect notes, scheduling and confirming appointments for introductory advisor conversations, maintaining accurate records in tracking tools and spreadsheets, conducting basic advisor research (firm affiliation, location, years in practice), helping organize follow-up workflows, and supporting special projects related to recruiting campaigns or events as needed.
- • The intern will work closely with Business Development Directors (BDD) and firm team members, participating in prospecting activities and business development initiatives while building a strong foundation in financial services.
- • This role offers the opportunity to learn and achieve practical skills in business development, sales, and financial advising, gain experience with CRM and tracking systems, develop professional communication abilities with advisors and internal stakeholders, and build a network that supports long-term career growth in wealth management or financial advising.
🎯 Requirements
- • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field; Junior or Senior standing preferred (or recent graduate).
- • Strong interest in a career in wealth management or financial advising.
- • Strong organizational and communication skills.
- • Confident making outbound calls with working knowledge of LinkedIn, spreadsheets, and basic CRM or tracking systems.
- • Detail-oriented and reliable with follow-through.
- • Ability to communicate professionally with advisors and internal stakeholders.
