- • As a Payments Consultant specializing in Direct Sales, you will be at the forefront of U.S. Bank's strategic shift towards a high-performance direct distribution model within the Merchant Payment Solutions (MPS) division. This pivotal role is designed for a driven sales professional based in or near Charlotte, North Carolina, who is eager to acquire new merchant clients, cultivate existing relationships, and significantly contribute to revenue growth.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to proactively identify and engage potential merchant clients across a diverse range of industries, including but not limited to Retail, Hospitality, Healthcare, and the Public Sector. You will be expected to deeply understand the unique challenges and opportunities within each vertical to effectively position U.S. Bank's payment solutions.
- • A key aspect of this role involves conducting compelling product demonstrations, clearly articulating the robust value proposition of MPS solutions. This requires a thorough understanding of payment processing technologies, competitive advantages, and how our offerings can directly benefit a merchant's business operations, profitability, and customer experience.
- • You will be tasked with managing a dynamic and extensive sales pipeline, leveraging Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, specifically Salesforce, to track leads, manage interactions, and forecast sales effectively. Diligent use of these tools is crucial for maintaining visibility and driving progress towards sales targets.
- • The role demands strong negotiation skills to finalize pricing and contract terms, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that foster long-term partnerships. Success in this area will be measured by your ability to close deals efficiently while maintaining client satisfaction.
- • Beyond new client acquisition, a significant focus will be placed on building and nurturing strong, enduring relationships with existing clients. This involves acting as a trusted advisor, understanding their evolving business needs, and proactively offering tailored solutions and insights to enhance their payment processing experience.
- • You will play an active role in executing customer retention strategies, aiming to minimize churn and maximize client loyalty and satisfaction. This requires a proactive approach to client management, addressing concerns promptly and identifying opportunities for upselling or cross-selling relevant services.
- • Market development is another critical component of this position. You will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on opportunities within high-growth geographic areas and emerging industry verticals. This involves staying abreast of the latest industry trends, understanding the competitive landscape, and being aware of any relevant regulatory changes that might impact the payments sector.
- • Maintaining operational excellence is paramount. This includes ensuring strict adherence to all internal controls, compliance guidelines, and promotional offer parameters. Accurate and timely record-keeping of all sales activities, customer interactions, and deal progress within the CRM system is essential for performance tracking and reporting.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a significant transformation within U.S. Bank, moving from traditional partnership models to a more direct, high-performance sales strategy. Your contributions will directly impact the growth and success of the MPS division.
- • You will be empowered to leverage the extensive resources and support of U.S. Bank, a leading financial institution, to deliver best-in-class payment solutions to businesses of all sizes.
- • The position requires a degree of autonomy and self-motivation, as you will be responsible for managing your territory and sales activities independently, while also collaborating with internal teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and support.
- • Success in this role will be defined by your ability to consistently meet and exceed sales quotas, drive significant revenue growth, and build a strong, loyal client base within your assigned territory.
- • You will be expected to continuously enhance your knowledge of payment technologies, financial services, and sales best practices to remain a competitive and effective sales professional.
- • This role is ideal for an ambitious individual who thrives in a direct sales environment, possesses a deep understanding of business needs, and is passionate about helping clients succeed through innovative payment solutions.
