- • The Business Development Lead - Cyber role at OpenAI is critical for shaping the company's cybersecurity partnership strategy, driving high-impact collaborations that align product, security, safety, policy, legal, and commercial goals to advance OpenAI's mission of safe AI deployment.
- • Day to day, the person will lead full lifecycle strategic partnerships—from strategy and executive alignment to product scoping, negotiation, launch planning, execution, and ongoing reviews—while translating partner needs into product roadmap recommendations and ensuring compliance with security and privacy standards.
- • The role sits within a deeply cross-functional team at OpenAI, requiring close collaboration with Product, Engineering, GTM, Legal, Safety, Policy, and Security teams to enable ecosystem-wide adoption and measurable impact through GSI, MSSP, and cloud provider partnerships.
- • In this role, the person will develop senior relationships with cybersecurity executives, bring structure to ambiguous opportunities, influence cross-functional decisions, and gain expertise in AI security partnerships at the forefront of technology and policy innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 15+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, product partnerships, business development, or general management within the cybersecurity and technology industry
- • Deep understanding of the cybersecurity ecosystem, key industry incentives, and dynamics
- • Fluency in compliance and regulatory frameworks guiding enterprise security buying (e.g., SOC 2, FedRAMP, ISO 27001)
- • Demonstrated success managing complex strategic partnerships involving product integration, commercial terms, GTM execution, and long-term platform alignment
- • Strong technical fluency and cross-functional leadership across product, engineering, GTM, legal, policy, security, support, and operations
- • Clear communication, structured thinking, and comfort making prioritization calls in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- • Exceptionally high quality judgment and integrity
