The recent acquisition of Autovia, the powerhouse behind Auto Express and evo, has dramatically amplified our reach, positioning us as a dominant force in the automotive media landscape.
  • • As a Business Development Manager, your primary mission will be to cultivate and convert a cold-generated pipeline specifically for our Used Car Advertising product. This involves creating your own momentum, conducting credible, outcome-led sales conversations, and closing deals with integrity and responsibility. As the business matures, you will also have the scope to expand your expertise into selling New Car Advertising solutions.
  • • This role is distinct from traditional enterprise BDM positions. You will be responsible for self-generating your pipeline through proactive outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn, and will also work with opportunities generated by a newly established BDR function, albeit with limited volume. The sales cycles are expected to be short and transactional, and you will be positioned as one channel among others, rather than the sole dominant marketplace.
  • • The Used Car Advertising product is in an emerging phase, meaning it is new, evolving, and subject to market shifts. This requires a high degree of adaptability and resilience, as market changes can impact pipeline overnight, necessitating a readiness to restart from zero. You will own your targets for pipeline creation and revenue end-to-end, operating with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
  • • Key responsibilities include prospecting independently, qualifying leads rigorously, and moving opportunities forward with speed and efficiency. You will anchor your sales conversations on critical business metrics such as Return on Investment (ROI), profit per unit, stock turn, finance penetration, and control/enquiry quality. It is crucial to position Carwow honestly as an emerging channel, avoiding brand-led or feature-led selling approaches.
  • • Operating with strong judgment and discipline is paramount. You will need to make swift decisions about which opportunities to pursue and which to discard, demonstrating comfort with ambiguity and change. This role demands a proactive approach to restarting pipeline generation when necessary and a steadfast commitment to owning your targets.
  • • Cross-functional collaboration is essential. You will partner closely with BDRs, Marketing, and Partner Success teams to ensure seamless handovers and to feed valuable market insights back into our proposition and product development cycles. This collaborative approach ensures a cohesive customer experience and continuous improvement of our offerings.
