  • • As a Business Development Manager for the Office Coffee & Supply/Specialty Retail (Away from Home Sales Team) at The J.M. Smucker Company, you will develop, coordinate, and lead snacking strategy for Unattended Retail, Specialty Retail, and Military channels, directly contributing to annual volume and profit goals in support of the Away From Home Strategic Business Area’s fiscal year plans.
  • • Day to day, you will execute national sales initiatives, manage broker relationships, develop Joint Business Plans with key accounts, collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Logistics, Product Development, Marketing, etc.), train and mentor brokers, report progress vs. plan, and operate within budget while supporting the Non-Commercial Selling team in setting snacking strategy.

  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in Away From Home channels, sharpen strategic account management and broker leadership skills, gain experience in revenue growth management and CRM-driven sales execution, and position yourself for advancement into broader commercial leadership roles within CPG and specialty retail sectors.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree
  • • 5+ years of previous sales experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods and Food and/or Beverage product sales
  • • Broker Management experience
  • • Ability to convert data and observations into insights that lead to opportunity development
  • • Experience developing business plans and sales initiatives
  • • CRM Software experience
  • • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) for internal and external stakeholders, including executive and C-level
  • • Proven experience selling/maintaining major customers (Top to Top, Strategic Customers)
  • • Experience in strategic decision making
  • • Full understanding of Away From Home customers and supply chain
  • • Ability to travel roughly 50% of work schedule
