- • As a Dutch-speaking Business Development Representative based in Valencia, you will play a pivotal role in expanding Groupon’s footprint in the Dutch market by acquiring new local business partners and driving revenue growth through proactive outbound sales. This role is critical to Groupon’s mission of empowering small businesses and connecting them with customers seeking unique local experiences.
- • You will own the full sales cycle from initial outreach to contract closure, conducting cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach to identify and engage potential merchant partners across industries such as food & drink, health & beauty, leisure & experiences, and home & auto. You will negotiate deals, customize offers, and ensure seamless onboarding to set partners up for long-term success.
- • You will manage your sales pipeline rigorously using Salesforce, tracking activities, forecasting revenue, and maintaining accurate records to ensure visibility and accountability. Daily responsibilities include follow-ups, deal progression, and updating CRM data to reflect real-time sales activities.
- • As the face of Groupon in the Netherlands, you will represent the brand with professionalism and enthusiasm, building trust, fostering relationships, and enhancing Groupon’s reputation as a valuable partner for local businesses seeking growth and visibility.
- • You will collaborate closely with the Valencia-based sales team and global enablement functions, benefiting from mentorship, peer learning, and structured onboarding to accelerate your ramp-up and develop advanced sales techniques in a supportive, performance-driven environment.
- • This role offers significant professional growth: you will master consultative selling, pipeline management, and cross-cultural communication while gaining deep insights into local commerce, digital marketing, and AI-enabled sales tools—positioning you for advancement into senior sales, account management, or leadership roles within Groupon’s global commercial organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in Dutch (spoken and written) and proficiency in English for internal collaboration and client communication
- • Proven ability or strong motivation to succeed in outbound sales, including cold calling, prospecting, and deal closing
- • Experience with CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce) or demonstrated aptitude to learn and manage sales pipelines effectively
- • Competitive, goal-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets in target-driven environments
- • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the resilience to handle rejection and stay motivated
- • Previous sales or business development experience is a plus, but attitude, drive, and coachability are prioritized
