- • As a Business Segment Lead at Alan, you will be instrumental in driving market leadership within a defined client segment in the French market. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for your assigned segment. This involves articulating a clear and compelling vision, meticulously defining strategic priorities and allocating necessary resources to achieve ambitious goals, and making critical, data-driven decisions informed by deep market insights. Operating within Alan's framework of distributed ownership and transversal influence, you will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams, including Product, Insurance, Sales, and Marketing, to ensure cohesive execution and alignment. Furthermore, you will engage with fellow segment leaders to foster a collaborative environment for knowledge sharing, best practice dissemination, and the collective development of a long-term value creation plan for Alan.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a wide range of strategic and operational activities crucial for segment success. You will conduct in-depth market intelligence, developing a profound understanding of the competitive landscape and identifying emerging trends. This involves both quantitative analysis, such as market sizing and forecasting, and qualitative research, focusing on understanding customer pain points, unmet needs, and evolving expectations. A key aspect of your role will be shaping and refining the value proposition and pricing strategies for your segment, continuously questioning and optimizing our offering to ensure it provides a distinct competitive advantage and positions Alan as the leader. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing robust Go-to-Market strategies, encompassing both customer retention through effective account management and new business acquisition via strategic business development initiatives. This will require innovative approaches to distribution channels, identifying and nurturing sub-segments, and managing key partnerships.
- • A significant part of your remit will be P&L ownership for your segment, where you will be accountable for driving financial performance and demonstrating a clear return on investment. You will build compelling business cases to secure internal resource allocation, justifying investments based on projected financial outcomes and strategic importance. Collaboration with product teams will be essential; you will translate market insights and customer needs into actionable product requirements, influencing the product roadmap to ensure we are building the most impactful and differentiated offerings. You will also work closely with sales and marketing teams to align strategies, develop targeted campaigns, and ensure effective market penetration. This role demands a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with a strong emphasis on driving results and fostering growth within your designated segment.

🎯 Requirements
- • At least 7 years of prior experience leading a business (product category, business segment, etc.)
- • Fluent in both English & French
- • An exceptional ability to establish transversal influence
- • Used to analyze and manipulate data to build a 360 degree view of your market
- • A strong business sense while being able to go deep into product considerations
- • Able to articulate clear strategies in spite of complexity/uncertainty
- • A prior experience working with senior leadership
- • You are a generalist self-starter (Vs a specialist of 1 single industry) able to adapt fast and not afraid to go on the field to support your team mates and learn from them
