Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join Shift Technology as a C# Full Stack Developer (Mid-Senior Level) and become a core contributor to the AI platform that is redefining insurance. You will own the design, development, and continuous improvement of cloud-native micro-services that power underwriting, claims, fraud detection, and risk analytics for the world’s largest insurers.
- • Architect and build resilient, high-throughput RESTful APIs in .NET 6/7, orchestrating data from multiple sources and exposing clean, versioned endpoints that our data-science teams and customer integrations rely on.
- • Craft intuitive, performant web front-ends in React/TypeScript, delivering pixel-perfect UIs that surface complex AI insights in a way underwriters and claims adjusters can act on within seconds.
- • Implement event-driven pipelines using Azure Service Bus / Kafka to stream billions of claims and policy events per month, ensuring sub-second latency and exactly-once processing guarantees.
- • Write clean, testable C# code following SOLID, DDD, and CQRS patterns; maintain >80 % unit-test coverage and champion TDD/BDD across the squad.
- • Optimize SQL Server and Cosmos DB queries that crunch terabytes of structured and semi-structured insurance data; design new indexes, partitioning strategies, and caching layers to cut query times by orders of magnitude.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, UX designers, data scientists, and DevOps in a fully-remote, agile environment; participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and blameless post-mortems.
- • Instrument everything—App Insights, Prometheus, Grafana—so that every feature ships with SLI/SLO dashboards and actionable alerts; reduce MTTR by automating canary releases and blue-green deployments via Azure DevOps & Helm.
- • Contribute to our internal developer platform: reusable NuGet packages, shared React component libraries, and self-service CI/CD templates that let squads ship features to production 5× faster.
- • Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and lightning talks; foster a culture of psychological safety where experimentation and constructive feedback thrive.
- • Stay on the bleeding edge—evaluate .NET 8 previews, experiment with Blazor WASM, and prototype generative-AI copilots that help customers write policy wording or triage claims.
- • Ensure security and compliance (SOC 2, GDPR) are baked into every pull request; perform threat modeling, dependency scanning, and static code analysis to protect sensitive PII and claims data.
- • Own the full incident lifecycle—from on-call rotation to root-cause analysis—turning outages into actionable backlog items that prevent recurrence and improve platform reliability.
- • Influence the technical roadmap: analyze customer usage telemetry, propose new micro-services or architectural pivots, and present findings to the CTO and VP of Engineering.
- • Celebrate wins and learn from failures in our monthly “Ship-it” demos, where teams showcase features that saved insurers millions in fraud losses or cut claims cycle time by 40 %.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience building production-grade .NET applications (C#, ASP.NET Core, EF Core) in cloud-native, micro-service architectures.
- • Strong proficiency in React (or Angular/Vue with willingness to upskill) and TypeScript, including hooks, state management (Redux/Zustand), and performance optimization.
- • Hands-on expertise with Azure or AWS (App Service, Functions, AKS/EKS, Cosmos DB/SQL, Service Bus/Kinesis) and Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM, Terraform, or Pulumi).
- • Solid grasp of relational and NoSQL data modeling, query tuning, and caching strategies at multi-terabyte scale.
- • Nice-to-have: experience in the insurance or fintech domain, familiarity with event sourcing/CQRS, and contributions to open-source .NET or React projects.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Fully-remote, async-first culture with flexible hours and a generous home-office stipend.
- • Competitive CLT package including health, dental, life, and 100 % paid private pension (Prev).
- • Annual learning & conference budget (USD 3 k) plus 5 paid “learning days” to explore new tech.
- • 30 days paid vacation, birthday day-off, and quarterly mental-health recharge weeks.
