Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Shape the future of clean, resilient energy at Carrier Global Corporation, the world’s leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions. As the Senior Portfolio Product Manager for Carrier Energy, you will own the end-to-end strategy, roadmap, and P&L for a portfolio of utility-facing offerings that turn residential and commercial HVAC, battery-storage, and micro-grid assets into grid-interactive resources.
  • • You will be the single point of accountability for translating complex utility demand-flexibility needs into market-winning products that reduce peak load, monetize incentives, and accelerate decarbonization. Your insights will directly influence Carrier’s five-year growth plan and sustainability commitments.
  • • Build and maintain C-suite relationships with IOUs, munis, co-ops, and RTO/ISO stakeholders across North America. You will run quarterly business reviews, negotiate pilot tariffs, and secure long-term procurement contracts that position Carrier as the preferred distributed-energy partner.
  • • Lead cross-functional squads of engineers, data-scientists, sales, legal, and regulatory affairs to shepherd new concepts from whiteboard to revenue. Define user stories, pricing models, and go-to-market playbooks that scale from 50-home pilots to multi-state commercial roll-outs.
  • • Own the utility incentive stack—demand-response, bring-your-own-device, time-of-use, and capacity programs—and embed those economics into customer value propositions and sales tools. Track policy dockets and advocate for rules that reward flexible, efficient HVAC and storage assets.
  • • Design and execute field trials that validate technical performance, customer satisfaction, and grid value. Establish KPIs for kW reduction, customer acquisition cost, and incentive capture; publish results that de-risk utility adoption and unlock follow-on capital.
  • • Partner with product marketing to craft compelling narratives, case studies, and conference presentations that differentiate Carrier Energy in competitive RFPs. You will speak at industry forums such as DistribuTECH, AESP, and EEI to build thought-leadership moats.
  • • Continuously scan the competitive landscape—virtual power plant platforms, DERMS providers, thermostat OEMs—and feed insights into roadmap prioritization sessions. Use TAM/SAM/PAM models and bottoms-up financial analysis to justify investment asks to Carrier’s Enterprise Strategy Board.
  • • Mentor junior product managers and analysts; instill agile best-practices, stage-gate discipline, and customer-discovery rigor across the organization. Champion diversity of thought and inclusive decision-making that mirrors the communities we serve.
  • • Travel up to 25 % domestically to utility headquarters, pilot sites, and industry events, ensuring voice-of-customer is never filtered. When on the road, you will conduct ride-alongs with technicians and installers to ground truth operational feasibility and user experience.
  • • Report to the VP of Energy Solutions with quarterly OKRs tied to contracted MW under management, recurring software revenue, and portfolio gross margin. Your success will be celebrated in Carrier’s global town-halls and will fast-track you to director-level roles across climate and security segments.
