📋 Description

• • The CDS Intake Specialist serves as the first point of contact for network providers, physicians, and members, playing a critical role in processing prior-authorization requests to ensure timely and accurate healthcare service approvals.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include receiving and processing authorization requests via phone, fax, and web; collecting and transferring non-clinical data; acquiring structured clinical data; verifying eligibility and provider participation; initiating online authorizations; escalating cases for second-level review when medical necessity is unclear; and providing follow-up customer service on existing requests.
