📋 Description

  • As a Central Relationship Manager - Squad Lead at Allica Bank, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth and success of established SMEs across the UK by managing a portfolio of remotely serviced business clients and leading a small team of Relationship Managers. This role is critical to Allica Bank’s mission of becoming the UK’s most recommended bank for established SMEs, combining hands-on client engagement with leadership responsibilities to drive both customer outcomes and team performance.
  • You will remotely manage a portfolio of established SMEs, providing tailored banking solutions including secured lending (commercial mortgages and asset finance), current accounts, and deposit facilities, while proactively monitoring credit risk using data alerts and insights to identify early warning indicators and support sustainable lending decisions. Your day-to-day will involve originating new lending opportunities from initial enquiry to completion, assessing and proposing credit structures aligned with Allica’s credit policies, and working closely with business owners to understand their ambitions and align banking support with their growth plans.
  • In addition to individual client management, you will lead and develop a small team of Central Relationship Managers through regular coaching, performance reviews, and targeted interventions, fostering a high-performing culture grounded in Allica’s core values of Straightforward, Integrity, Collaborative, and Delivery. You will communicate and track key objectives for both your portfolio and team to ensure consistent service excellence and customer outcomes.
  • You will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across Allica Bank to ensure seamless service delivery, actively manage your personal development plan, and contribute to the achievement of team goals set by the Senior Central Team Manager, all while maintaining compliance with mandatory policies and operational procedures.

🎯 Requirements

  • Proven experience in relationship managing a portfolio of SME clients, with a strong track record in delivering banking services including lending (commercial mortgages, asset finance), deposit facilities, and current accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse business plans and financial accounts, assess credit risk, and propose suitable lending structures that align with client goals while mitigating risk, in accordance with established credit policies.
  • Experience in leading, coaching, and developing a small team of relationship managers, including conducting performance reviews and providing targeted support to drive individual and team performance.
  • Strong understanding of SME banking and commercial lending products, with the ability to identify and unlock new lending opportunities from existing client portfolios and through proactive client engagement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport, establish trust, and engage effectively with business owners to understand their ambitions and support their growth aspirations.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and adaptable individual capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities and working independently when required.
