- • The Channel Sales Engineer (SE) is a technical sales support role responsible for arranging pre-sales engagement with current and prospective clients, acting as a trusted advisor to drive revenue and customer success for Commvault.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing territory plans and account strategies, anticipating technology trends, building relationships with partners and internal teams, engaging senior IT leadership to qualify technical and business needs, creating technical account plans, translating business requirements into technical solutions, demonstrating Commvault products via presentations and proof-of-concepts, supporting channel and alliance partners, maintaining technical expertise through training and certifications, and documenting key issues in Salesforce.com for senior management.

- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in enterprise data management solutions, strengthen consultative selling and technical leadership skills, influence high-stakes sales outcomes, mentor peers, and grow into a strategic advisor shaping customer success and Commvault’s market position.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years in the software or storage industry with 3+ years of proven experience in a pre-sales sales engineer role
- • Demonstrated experience delivering, presenting, selling, and supporting enterprise/commercial clients, including proven success in proof of concept, architecting data management solutions (backup, recovery, migration, replication, compliance, SRM), and penetrating at least three major Fortune 500-1000 accounts
- • Solid knowledge of infrastructure technologies (storage, servers, networking, cloud, hyper-convergence), enterprise applications (SAP, Oracle, Exchange, DB2, SharePoint), and specialized proficiency with at least one major open systems OS, hypervisor, or cloud platform
- • BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related field; experience with sales methodologies (MEDDIC, TAS, SPIN, Solution Selling, Challenger); ability to work remotely and autonomously with up to 50% travel
