Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As Chief Commercial Officer at Centivo, you will own and drive the full commercial engine of a mission-driven health plan dedicated to bringing affordable, high-quality healthcare to self-funded employers and their employees. You will be accountable for the entire revenue lifecycle — from new business acquisition and client retention to implementation and revenue operations — ensuring alignment across sales, client success, implementation, and revenue operations to scale Centivo’s impact in a competitive market.
  • • You will craft and execute a unified commercial strategy that integrates market segmentation, channel strategy, pricing, and go-to-market motions across national/strategic accounts and the core/middle market, positioning Centivo as a leader in the self-funded employer space through deep industry knowledge and competitive differentiation.
  • • You will lead and develop high-performing teams across sales, client success, implementation, and revenue operations, building scalable processes, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, and ensuring seamless handoffs between functions to deliver exceptional client experiences from sale through renewal.
  • • You will serve as the voice of the market to influence product strategy, partner with Finance and Legal on pricing and deal structure, and act as the public face of Centivo to employers, brokers, consultants, and health system partners, driving revenue growth while advancing the company’s mission.
  • • You will establish rigorous revenue operations disciplines — including CRM hygiene, forecasting accuracy, pipeline governance, and technology investments — to enable predictable, scalable growth without proportional cost increases, and partner closely with senior leadership to integrate commercial objectives with enterprise-wide priorities.
  • • You will grow both personally and professionally by leading a scaling health plan backed by top-tier investors, shaping the future of affordable healthcare, and developing expertise in hyperscale commercial execution within a mission-driven, values-based organization that prizes resilience, positivity, and uncommon effectiveness.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
  • • 12+ years of commercial leadership experience in health benefits, health plans, health technology, or closely adjacent industries (TPA, PBM, benefits administration)
  • • 7+ years in a senior executive role with ownership of multiple commercial functions — ideally including sales, client success, and at least one of: revenue operations, implementation, or issue resolution
  • • Demonstrated success scaling a commercial organization through hyperscale or high-growth phases, from early traction to sustained, repeatable growth
  • • Deep expertise in the self-funded employer market, including broker/consultant distribution dynamics, RFP processes, and plan administration realities
  • • Ability to collaborate with technical functions such as actuarial and clinical, and operational teams like claims and member services
  • • Experience leading both national/strategic accounts and middle market sales motions simultaneously, with ability to build differentiated approaches for each segment
  • • Proven track record of building and developing exceptional teams — attracting, developing, and retaining high-caliber talent at all levels
  • • Strong fluency in revenue analytics, pipeline management, CRM disciplines, and commercial forecasting
  • • Exceptional ability to build trust and productive relationships with employer clients, broker partners, and internal cross-functional stakeholders

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunity to lead the commercial strategy of a mission-driven health plan improving healthcare affordability for thousands of employers and employees
  • • Remote work flexibility with headquarters in Buffalo, NY and presence in New York City
  • • Backed by leading healthcare and technology investors, including Morgan Health (a unit of JPMorgan Chase & Co.)
  • • Chance to shape go-to-market strategy in a growing self-funded health plan saving employers 15–30% vs. traditional carriers
  • • Work within a values-driven culture emphasizing resilience, positivity, and uncommon effectiveness
  • • Exposure to executive leadership and board-level strategic decision-making as a key member of the senior leadership team
