- • The Symicor Group is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Chief Credit Officer (CCO) to lead credit risk management for a dynamic financial institution. This pivotal role, based in Maplewood, NJ, offers a compensation package up to $250,000, reflecting the seniority and impact of this position. As the CCO, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the organization's credit strategy, ensuring the soundness of its loan portfolio, and driving sustainable growth while mitigating risk.
- • You will oversee all aspects of the credit function, from policy development and underwriting standards to portfolio management and collections. This includes establishing and maintaining robust credit policies, procedures, and risk assessment frameworks that align with the company's strategic objectives and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating complex credit markets and economic cycles, ensuring the institution remains resilient and profitable.
- • A key responsibility will be to lead and mentor a team of credit professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You will set performance standards, provide guidance, and empower your team to make sound credit decisions. Developing and implementing training programs to enhance the team's skills and knowledge will also be a priority.
- • The CCO will play a vital role in the development and implementation of innovative credit products and services, working closely with business development and other departments to identify new opportunities and assess their associated risks. This involves conducting thorough due diligence, financial analysis, and risk modeling to support strategic initiatives and ensure profitable expansion.
- • You will be responsible for the ongoing monitoring and analysis of the credit portfolio, identifying potential risks and developing proactive strategies to manage and mitigate them. This includes establishing key risk indicators (KRIs), setting risk appetite limits, and implementing early warning systems to detect and address deteriorating credit quality. Regular reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors on portfolio performance, risk exposures, and credit strategy will be essential.
- • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and various business units to ensure a cohesive approach to credit risk management. Providing expert advice and insights on credit-related matters to support strategic decision-making will be a core function.
- • Furthermore, you will ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies governing credit operations. Staying abreast of changes in the regulatory landscape and adapting policies and procedures accordingly will be paramount. You will also be the primary point of contact for regulatory examinations related to credit risk.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial markets, economic trends, and their impact on credit risk. You will leverage this knowledge to refine credit scoring models, loan pricing strategies, and collateral valuation methodologies. The ability to develop and implement effective collection strategies for non-performing loans will also be critical.
- • This role demands a forward-thinking leader who can anticipate future credit challenges and opportunities. You will be expected to champion best practices in credit risk management, drive efficiency in credit processes, and contribute significantly to the overall financial health and strategic direction of the organization. Your leadership will directly influence the institution's ability to lend responsibly and profitably, supporting its mission and growth objectives.
- • Ultimately, the Chief Credit Officer will be the guardian of the institution's credit quality, ensuring that lending activities are conducted prudently and profitably, thereby safeguarding assets and enhancing shareholder value. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact in a key leadership position within a growing financial entity.
