- • Serve as the strategic financial architect for ISPOR, a 25-year-old global nonprofit that unites 15,000+ researchers, regulators, payers, providers, and patient advocates across 120 countries to advance health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). You will own the financial roadmap that enables life-changing policy and clinical decisions worldwide.
- • Drive multi-year financial forecasting, budgeting, and scenario planning that directly fuels ISPOR’s mission to improve health decision-making. Translate complex data into clear narratives that guide the CEO, Board of Directors, Finance & Audit Committees, and senior leadership in allocating resources to scientific conferences, peer-reviewed journals, education programs, and global advocacy initiatives.
- • Ensure rock-solid fiscal stewardship by overseeing all accounting, cash-flow management, banking, investments, insurance, and treasury functions in strict compliance with U.S. GAAP, nonprofit regulations, and international standards. You will manage annual audits, tax filings (Form 990), 401(k) administration, and grantor reporting while continuously strengthening internal controls and risk-mitigation frameworks.
- • Optimize and modernize financial systems, policies, and processes to scale with ISPOR’s expanding global footprint. Evaluate and implement cloud-based ERP, budgeting, and reporting tools that deliver real-time dashboards to stakeholders and reduce month-end close cycles.
- • Cultivate and steward high-value relationships with commercial banks, investment advisors, insurers, and grant-making bodies. Negotiate favorable credit facilities, manage a diversified investment portfolio aligned with socially responsible principles, and ensure liquidity for strategic initiatives and unforeseen global events.
- • Provide incisive financial analysis and decision support for new revenue streams—such as digital education, corporate partnerships, and regional chapter expansion—while maintaining the Society’s reputation as an unbiased, multi-stakeholder convener.
- • Lead, mentor, and inspire a lean but high-performing finance and accounting team. Foster a culture of continuous learning, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation through quarterly learning events, clear career pathways, and recognition of outstanding performance.
- • Serve as a key spokesperson on financial matters, translating complex concepts into accessible insights for diverse audiences including academic researchers, pharmaceutical executives, regulatory officials, and patient advocates. Present at Board meetings, annual conferences, and donor briefings with clarity, transparency, and confidence.
- • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the finance function and across ISPOR. Ensure equitable compensation practices, inclusive budgeting for global programs, and culturally sensitive financial policies that reflect the Society’s commitment to global representation.
- • Travel nationally as required and internationally approximately once per year to attend flagship conferences, regional chapter meetings, and strategic partner summits, ensuring firsthand understanding of ISPOR’s global impact and emerging financial needs.
