- • Manage the end-to-end claims process for student transportation services, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant resolution of all claims related to service disruptions, cancellations, and operational incidents.
- • Lead a team of claims specialists to investigate, document, and resolve claims in alignment with company policies, insurance requirements, and regulatory standards.
- • Collaborate with operations, safety, and customer success teams to identify root causes of recurring claims and implement process improvements that reduce claim frequency and improve service reliability.
- • Maintain detailed records of all claims activity in the company’s CRM and claims management systems, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness for internal and external reviews.
- • Prepare and present monthly claims performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting trends, resolution rates, cost impacts, and areas for operational optimization.
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance providers, third-party administrators, and legal counsel regarding claim submissions, settlements, and dispute resolution.
- • Ensure all claims activities comply with state and federal transportation regulations, student safety protocols, and contractual obligations with school districts and partners.
- • Develop and deliver training materials and best practices to frontline staff on proper claim documentation, escalation procedures, and customer communication standards.
- • Monitor claims budget and forecast financial exposure, working closely with finance to align claims reserves with actual payout trends and risk assessments.
- • Proactively identify opportunities to reduce liability exposure through policy adjustments, driver training enhancements, and real-time operational feedback loops.
- • Interface with school administrators and families to address complex claims with empathy, transparency, and efficiency, maintaining Zūm’s reputation for customer-centric service.
- • Coordinate with the safety and compliance team to ensure all claims involving student incidents are reported in accordance with mandatory reporting laws and internal safety protocols.
- • Continuously evaluate claims workflows for efficiency, leveraging technology and automation tools to reduce manual processing time and improve turnaround.
- • Participate in cross-functional incident review meetings to align claims outcomes with broader operational and safety objectives across the organization.
- • Stay current on evolving state and federal regulations affecting student transportation and adjust claims procedures accordingly to maintain compliance.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 5 years of experience in claims management, preferably in transportation, logistics, or student services
- • Proven track record managing high-volume claims processes with strict regulatory compliance
- • Experience working with insurance carriers and third-party administrators
- • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data reporting and claims analytics tools
- • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with internal teams, external partners, and customers
- • Familiarity with transportation regulations affecting school-based services
