  • • The Client Case Manager at Catalight Foundation plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality behavioral health services for client families by streamlining processes, improving communication, and driving clinical quality outcomes. This role is essential to creating a supportive, effective care path experience by addressing client needs, resolving barriers, and advocating for medically necessary services throughout the episode of care.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include following care plans through effective case management, assessing and addressing risk while escalating high-risk clinical concerns to supervisors, and serving as the primary liaison between treatment providers, funding sources, and client families to ensure seamless coordination of care.
  • • The Client Case Manager collaborates with key stakeholders to address clinical concerns, serves as the main contact for client families and funders by responding to all inquiries, and conducts service recovery efforts through thorough clinical reviews of care plans to identify barriers, challenges, and progress toward desired outcomes.
  • • Additional duties involve resolving client family complaints to improve satisfaction and access to services, reviewing clinical appropriateness of provider transfer requests, supporting transitions to next treating providers, and completing timely documentation of all interactions using appropriate systems per agency policies.
  • • The role also includes supporting Clinical Escalation Specialists and Provider Case Managers by conducting case reviews and outreach, documenting complaints for submission to the Quality department, supporting Behavioral Health Screening coverage needs, monitoring and analyzing caregiver concern trends, and presenting data to management.
  • • The Client Case Manager participates in special projects and assists with additional duties as assigned, operates in a fast-paced environment requiring strong multitasking and time management, and works effectively within interdisciplinary teams while maintaining confidentiality and exercising good judgment when handling sensitive matters.
  • • This position offers the opportunity to develop advanced clinical case management expertise, deepen knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities, refine crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques, and strengthen advocacy, communication, and data-driven decision-making skills in a mission-driven organization focused on equitable, high-quality behavioral health care.

šŸŽÆ Requirements

  • • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, marriage and family therapy, or counseling is required.
  • • Current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and licensure as a Clinical Psychologist, LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC is required.
  • • One to two years of related professional experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and/or other developmental disabilities in a multidisciplinary team setting is preferred.
  • • Demonstrated expertise in crisis management and ability to effectively de-escalate clients and families is required.
  • • Excellent verbal and writing skills, strong interpersonal abilities (including empathic, active, and reflective listening), and a client-focused approach with clear boundary-setting and advocacy skills are essential.
  • • Highly detail-oriented with strong time management skills, ability to work independently or with minimal supervision, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) are required.
