- • Drive the development of an end-to-end AI therapist for the US market, focusing on evidence-based mental health interventions aligned with Clinical AI standards.
- • Implement and optimize the Evidence-Based Intervention Library to orchestrate therapeutic sessions that engage users and support recovery trajectories.
- • Design and deploy AI features that enhance product retention and user engagement, including expectation setting, gamification, and reinforcement learning mechanisms for personalized care.
- • Optimize recovery data collection processes by refining methods, timing, and predictive modeling of PHQ-9 assessments to improve clinical outcome tracking.
- • Conduct machine learning modeling on longitudinal patient data using SQL or NoSQL databases to identify recovery milestones and therapeutic patterns.
- • Build and refine LLM classifiers and vector-based systems for processing and interpreting text/language data from patient interactions.
- • Apply eval-driven development practices to validate AI interventions against clinical outcomes and user feedback.
- • Provide analytical and modeling support for additional clinical research projects, ensuring scientific rigor in product development.
- • Collaborate with clinical teams to integrate evidence-based mental health practices—particularly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy—into AI-driven therapeutic workflows.
- • Maintain and version control codebases using Git, ensuring reproducibility and compliance in a regulated healthcare AI environment.
- • Work from Limbic’s London (Spitalfields) office at least one day per week to support team collaboration and clinical alignment.
- • Ensure all AI systems adhere to safety-first principles and comply with regulatory standards, including UKCA Class IIa certification requirements.
- • Translate clinical science into scalable software features while balancing product goals with scientific validity and patient safety.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of AI models trained on real-world patient data from over 50% of NHS Talking Therapies deployments.
- • Support the expansion of Limbic’s US operations by tailoring AI interventions to meet cultural, linguistic, and clinical norms in the American healthcare context.
- • Participate in cross-functional teams to align AI development with clinical workflows, regulatory requirements, and user experience goals.
🎯 Requirements
- • PhD in Computational Psychiatry or related field with industry experience in Data Science, Product, or ML engineering; OR BSc/MSc in Computational Psychiatry (research focus) with 2+ years of ML engineering or Data Science experience in an Engineering/Product Development environment
- • Proficiency in Python or Typescript/Javascript
- • Experience using Machine Learning in a production environment or via high-impact scientific publications (e.g., predictive modelling, reinforcement learning)
- • Experience modelling text/language data, including building LLM classifiers and using vector-based methods
- • Experience modelling longitudinal data and working with databases (SQL or NoSQL)
- • Strong understanding of evidence-based mental health care (e.g., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and interest in causal mechanisms of therapeutic benefit
