- ⢠The Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring accurate and complete medical record documentation that reflects clinical treatment, decisions, and diagnoses for inpatients, directly impacting hospital and physician outcomes reporting.
- ⢠Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting clinical documentation chart reviews, collaborating with Case Management, physicians, mid-level providers, and other healthcare team members to identify documentation opportunities and ensure accuracy and completeness using coding and clinical expertise.

- ⢠In this role, the individual will develop advanced clinical documentation and coding expertise, strengthen communication and leadership skills through cross-functional collaboration, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient care and institutional performance.
šÆ Requirements
- ⢠Registered Nurse or Certified Coder with Registered Nurse licensure
- ⢠Two years of experience in nursing, coding, process improvement, or case management in an acute care facility
- ⢠Coding skills with experience in ICD-10
- ⢠Strong communication and leadership skills with ability to interact effectively with diverse personality types
- ⢠Preferred: Registered Nurse with Bachelorās degree
- ⢠Preferred: ICD-10 Coding experience and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Documentation Specialist (CDS) certification
