- • The Clinical Documentation Review Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of clinical documentation companywide by collaborating with team members and clinical leaders to identify inadequate documentation and assist in providing education to improve documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and optimizing reimbursement processes.
- • Day to day, the role involves conducting detailed home health and hospice pre-billing reviews, identifying discrepancies and missing information, utilizing findings to provide education and facilitate documentation improvements, directing agencies to use data outcomes for QA improvements, setting up meetings with clinical leaders to highlight findings and make recommendations, staying current with practices in home health and hospice, recommending process improvements, identifying trending issues, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while working within HCHB, PDF-Xchange, Excel, and Smartsheet.
