- • Manages the home health department for the Roanoke region, overseeing patient care, human resources, operational performance, capital equipment, and budgets.
- • Collaborates with clinical leaders to implement daily services and supervise clinical care across business units.
- • Manages the medical review and reimbursement appeals process to ensure accurate and compliant billing.
- • Conducts home visits for patient evaluations and staff supervision as needed.
- • Addresses complex operational issues of legal and ethical nature within home health operations.
- • Ensures full compliance with regulatory standards from the State of Virginia and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.
- • Develops and maintains employee orientation, in-service training, and continuing education programs to enhance clinical competencies.
- • Collaborates with the system to coordinate educational activities tailored to patient age groups and identified needs.
- • Develops, implements, and monitors fiscal budgets and capital equipment needs to support quality care delivery.
- • Plans, prioritizes, implements, and evaluates performance improvement activities focused on patient safety and quality outcomes.
- • Arranges and negotiates contractual agreements for services and ensures annual credentialing documentation is maintained.
- • Responds to concerns from patients, referral sources, and third-party payors, documenting the necessity of care provided.
- • Ensures accuracy of public informational materials and promotional activities related to home health services.
- • Serves as the primary communication link between physicians, staff, and community programs to coordinate care and resources.
- • Maintains proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting, documentation, and administrative tasks.
- • Demonstrates strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills to support team collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- • Applies analytical business skills and problem-solving/conflict resolution abilities in a competitive healthcare environment.
- • Upholds a customer-focused philosophy and demonstrates integrity and innovation in all managerial responsibilities.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, business, or related field (or equivalent education)
- • Registered Nurse license in the state of Virginia
- • Three to five years’ experience in healthcare management, with home health and/or hospice experience preferred
- • Thorough working knowledge of Virginia state regulations and Joint Commission accreditation standards
- • Valid Virginia driver’s license
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
