- • As the Commercial and Product Counsel at Givebutter, you will serve as the first legal point of contact for cross-functional teams, owning the end-to-end commercial contracting process and enabling the General Counsel to focus on strategic leadership.
- • You will negotiate vendor and customer contracts, build contracting infrastructure using templates and AI-powered tools, advise product teams on compliance-by-design, and support partnership and corporate legal matters.
- • Givebutter is a mission-driven, remote-first nonprofit fundraising and CRM platform certified as a Great Place to Work® since 2021, empowering changemakers with free, transparent tools to raise funds and manage donor relationships.
- • In this role, you will develop legal playbooks, implement AI-driven contract workflows, counsel on product risks, and scale legal operations in a high-growth tech environment while directly impacting the company’s ability to serve nonprofits with trust and integrity.
🎯 Requirements
- • A J.D. and active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction
- • 5–7 years of legal experience, with meaningful time spent in-house at a growth-stage fintech company (experience at a payments company or fundraising platform strongly preferred)
- • High-volume commercial contracting execution
- • Contracting systems & infrastructure buildout
- • Product counseling in a high growth, tech environment
- • Applied use of legal technology and AI tools
