- • Own the full commercial contracting lifecycle for one of the fastest-growing AI companies in the world, drafting, negotiating, and closing complex SaaS, data licensing, and professional-services agreements that fuel frontier research and enterprise AI deployments.
- • Serve as the primary legal point of contact for Turing’s global sales, partnerships, and research teams—translating cutting-edge AI capabilities into clear, balanced terms that protect intellectual property, ensure regulatory compliance, and accelerate revenue.
- • Structure and negotiate multi-million-dollar enterprise deals with Fortune 500 customers, hyperscalers, and leading AI labs, balancing aggressive growth targets with prudent risk management and long-term strategic relationships.
- • Draft and maintain playbooks, clause libraries, and contract templates that scale with Turing’s product roadmap, enabling self-service for business stakeholders while preserving legal rigor and consistency.
- • Partner with product, engineering, and research leaders to embed privacy-by-design, responsible-AI principles, and emerging regulatory requirements (EU AI Act, NIST, ISO/IEC 42001) into customer-facing offerings and internal workflows.
- • Advise on data rights, model-training consents, and synthetic-data licensing across text, image, audio, and video modalities—ensuring Turing’s data supply chain remains ethical, compliant, and defensible.
- • Lead cross-functional incident-response for high-severity customer issues, security events, or regulatory inquiries, coordinating engineering, security, and communications teams to deliver timely, transparent resolutions.
- • Monitor global AI legislation, export-control rules, and sector-specific regulations (healthcare, finance, defense) to anticipate compliance gaps and proactively shape product strategy and go-to-market motions.
- • Mentor junior legal teammates and contract managers, fostering a culture of curiosity, speed, and user-centric problem-solving that mirrors Turing’s engineering ethos.
- • Present quarterly legal-business reviews to the executive team, translating contract metrics, risk exposure, and regulatory developments into actionable insights that influence board-level decisions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of combined law-firm and in-house experience drafting and negotiating technology transactions, with at least 2 years focused on SaaS, cloud, or AI/ML offerings.
- • Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and ability to provide remote legal services to a Delaware corporation.
- • Demonstrated success closing seven-figure enterprise deals involving data licensing, professional services, or managed AI solutions.
- • Deep familiarity with global privacy regimes (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD) and emerging AI governance frameworks (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF).
- • Nice-to-have: Fluency in Python or SQL for reviewing data-processing agreements and model-training clauses; experience with open-source licensing and dual-use technology export controls.
