- • As Commercial Counsel at ActiveCampaign, you will serve as a strategic legal partner to the business, reporting directly to the General Counsel, and play a key role in shaping the legal infrastructure that supports the company’s global SaaS growth.
- • You will lead the review, negotiation, and refinement of commercial contracts with customers, vendors, and strategic partners, transforming complex redlines into streamlined, automated workflows that accelerate deal velocity.
- • You will partner with sales, product, finance, and engineering teams to ensure legal compliance while enabling rapid business execution in a fast-moving technology environment.
- • You will contribute to the development and standardization of legal templates, playbooks, and processes, leveraging legal operations principles to increase efficiency and scalability.
- • You will provide practical, business-focused legal advice on a wide range of commercial matters, including SaaS agreements, data privacy, intellectual property, and partnership structures.
- • You will help safeguard ActiveCampaign’s interests by identifying and mitigating legal risks in high-stakes transactions while supporting innovation and market expansion.
🎯 Requirements
- • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- • 5+ years of experience in commercial contracting, preferably within a technology or SaaS company.
- • Proven ability to negotiate and draft complex SaaS, licensing, and partnership agreements.
- • Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their application to commercial contracts.
- • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across cross-functional teams.
- • Experience leveraging legal technology or contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools to improve legal operations.
