- • As Commercial Counsel for Stripe’s Stablecoin & Crypto team, you will lead complex commercial and contractual negotiations, advise on product launches, and help scale Stripe’s legal and operational infrastructure to support safe, compliant, and commercially sound growth of crypto, stablecoin, and wallet offerings.
- • You will support the Sales team by leading negotiations and advising on commercial and legal issues, work with Product Legal to draft service terms and provide contractual and user-experience advice for new product launches, and build scalable commercial legal infrastructure through drafting agreements, maintaining playbooks, and improving internal processes using AI tooling.
- • You will partner with Sales, Partnerships, Operations, Product, Tax, and Risk teams to align legal solutions with business priorities, serve as a strategic advisor to senior managers on commercial strategy and risk, and develop training and resources to enable the Sales team to sell products confidently and compliantly.
- • You will act as a point of escalation for outside counsel, manage external counsel relationships, and contribute to Stripe’s mission of increasing the GDP of the internet by enabling global access to financial infrastructure through innovative crypto and stablecoin products.
🎯 Requirements
- • Qualified with good standing membership in at least one US state bar with a JD or foreign equivalent
- • 6+ years of relevant experience in-house or in a technology practice group at a top law firm
- • Exceptional drafting skills, with experience in creating services terms or SaaS agreements and deal negotiation drafting
- • Intellectually curious and a creative problem solver who relishes learning new products and finding solutions to complex legal and commercial problems
- • A self-starter with a bias for action, proactive and takes ownership to move matters forward
- • Clear and concise communicator (written and verbal) who can distill key risks and explain nuanced issues in plain terms for commercial and technical stakeholders
