đź“‹ Description

  • • As Community Lead for ALX Africa in Casablanca, you will own and drive the end-to-end community experience for learners and alumni across Morocco and emerging markets, ensuring a seamless journey from enrollment to post-graduation that strengthens retention, belonging, and long-term engagement. This role is pivotal in transforming ALX’s mission into lived experience by building a vibrant, self-sustaining ecosystem where learners don’t just gain skills — they find lifelong connection, opportunity, and purpose.
  • • You will design and execute a unified community strategy that segments learners and alumni by program, engagement level, and geography to deliver targeted initiatives — from onboarding journeys and peer-learning clubs to ambassador programs and alumni chapters — while aligning these efforts with national and regional priorities to maximize relevance and impact.
  • • Your day-to-day will include activating community engagement through online and offline events, managing scalable formats like WhatsApp and Telegram groups, maintaining high-responsiveness to community needs, and ensuring continuity between learner and alumni experiences to prevent post-graduation drop-off.
  • • You will drive community-led growth by identifying and amplifying success stories, activating learners and alumni as brand advocates, collaborating with Marketing to turn community narratives into powerful content, and tracking the impact of referrals, UGC, and ambassador programs on enrollment and engagement.
  • • You will support regional expansion by providing structure and guidance to community activations in Tunisia, Senegal, and other emerging markets, monitoring performance for consistency, identifying gaps, and contributing to scalable, repeatable community models through playbooks and platform optimization.
  • • You will build and maintain structured community playbooks, manage and optimize community platforms (WhatsApp, Telegram, internal tools, social channels), and ensure clear communication and effective tool usage to drive strong engagement and replicability across markets.
  • • You will track key metrics — engagement, retention, participation, and community health — build dashboards, collect and structure feedback via surveys and interactions, and translate insights into actionable improvements that continuously refine community strategy and execution.
  • • You will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, and Partnerships teams to ensure community efforts are integrated into broader acquisition, engagement, and retention strategies, and act as the voice of the community in internal discussions to influence product, program, and partnership decisions.
  • • You will support the distribution and visibility of opportunities — jobs, events, partnerships, and perks — to the community, working with internal teams to create tangible value for learners and alumni and fostering a connected ecosystem between them and external stakeholders.
  • • You will embody ALX’s core values of Courage, Humility, Adventure, Initiative, and Resilience, demonstrating strong ownership, accountability, self-management, and the ability to balance creative engagement with rigorous tracking and performance — operating independently while staying aligned with leadership priorities.
  • • You will contribute directly to ALX Africa’s audacious goal of empowering 2 million Africans by 2030 to secure sustainable tech careers, helping to build not just a training program, but a lifelong, impactful community of tech professionals that fuels innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic transformation across the continent.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 4–6+ years of experience in community management, learner experience, alumni engagement, or similar roles
  • • Proven ability to independently manage and execute end-to-end community initiatives
  • • Strong ability to translate strategy into structured operational plans
  • • Experience building and scaling communities (online and/or offline)
  • • Strong understanding of engagement levers, community dynamics, and youth ecosystems
  • • Strong data literacy (Excel / Google Sheets): able to track and interpret engagement metrics
  • • Excellent communication skills (French & English required)
  • • Strong stakeholder management across internal teams and external partners
  • • Ability to operate independently with minimal guidance while staying aligned with leadership priorities
  • • Structured thinker with strong organisational and execution skills
  • • AI-literate and comfortable leveraging tools to improve productivity and community management

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunity to shape one of the most impactful community ecosystems in Africa, directly contributing to ALX Africa’s mission of empowering 2 million Africans by 2030 with sustainable tech careers
  • • Hybrid work model with regular in-person presence required at the Casablanca City Hub for key activations, learner and alumni engagement, and on-the-ground execution
  • • Exposure to a fast-growing, mission-driven non-profit with hubs across 8 African cities and a proven track record of 347k+ graduates, 257k youth in work, and 31k youth starting ventures since 2020
  • • Professional growth in community-led growth, data-informed engagement, and cross-functional leadership within a dynamic, values-driven organization
  • • Access to a pan-African network of expert instructors, industry partners, and alumni, enabling rich collaboration and career-expanding connections
  • • Support for continuous learning and innovation, including encouragement to leverage AI tools and experiment with novel engagement formats to enhance community impact
