📋 Description

• • Conduct KYC/KYB reviews for new client onboarding, assess complex ownership structures, PEPs, and high-risk jurisdictions, and escalate ambiguous cases to senior team members or the MLRO.
• • Prepare Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) cases under the supervision of senior compliance staff, ensuring thorough documentation and risk-based recommendations.
• • Support operational efficiency of KYB processes by identifying friction points with the Product team while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
• • Contribute to scaling onboarding and periodic refresh processes as Capi expands into new markets across Africa, Europe, and North America.
• • Review and clear transaction monitoring alerts and sanctions screening flags within defined SLAs, ensuring timely resolution and audit-ready documentation.
• • Gather information from customers and internal teams to resolve flagged cases, following up persistently to meet compliance deadlines.
• • Escalate unusual transaction patterns or potential financial crime typologies to senior team members for further investigation.
• • Draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for senior review, ensuring clear, accurate, and legally defensible documentation.
• • Assist in gathering due diligence materials for new banking, FX, and payment corridor partners, including responding to regulatory and partner document requests.
• • Support implementation of compliance processes as Capi enters new jurisdictions, aligning local requirements with global policy frameworks.
• • Monitor regulatory developments across key jurisdictions (UK, Canada, African markets, and Europe) and translate them into actionable guidance for business teams.
• • Advise on new product launches, market entries, and partnerships by providing clear, commercial, and risk-proportionate compliance recommendations.
• • Enforce Capi’s internal compliance policies and procedures, proactively proposing improvements to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
• • Utilize data and tools to inform compliance decisions, reducing reliance on gut feeling and increasing process accuracy and scalability.
• • Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve compliance workflow efficiency.
• • Communicate compliance findings and rationale clearly in both written and verbal form, using plain language for non-compliance stakeholders.
• • Maintain fluency in English and French to support cross-border communications with internal teams and international clients.
• • Collaborate closely with Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to embed compliance as a business enabler rather than a barrier.
• • Demonstrate high integrity by adhering to compliance standards even under pressure or in ambiguous situations.
• • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, prioritizing tasks when multiple urgent demands arise.
• • Maintain curiosity by asking 'why' and continuously seeking to understand the underlying risk drivers behind compliance cases.
