📋 Description

• The Compliance Manager (Strategic Execution Lead) at Coinbase plays a critical role in enabling sustainable growth by providing expert compliance guidance for high-impact strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, new product launches, and geographic expansions. This role ensures that innovation in the crypto and blockchain space proceeds within robust regulatory frameworks, directly supporting Coinbase’s mission to increase economic freedom globally.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting M&A pre-deal due diligence by evaluating target companies’ compliance policies, controls, and staff to identify gaps and draft remediation plans; leading acquisition integration through implementation of updated compliance policies, procedures, training, and controls; assessing regulatory requirements for new market entry and developing compliance governance programs to secure licenses and banking partnerships; and conducting compliance risk assessments for new product launches, proposing incremental controls, liaising with MLROs, and engaging regulators or bank partners to validate risk mitigation strategies.

🎯 Requirements

• Broad compliance expertise, including AML & sanctions advisory, enhanced due diligence, and international regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience assessing risks, identifying compliance gaps, and designing control enhancements that enable business growth.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multiple time-sensitive projects with urgency, focus, and effective stakeholder engagement across corporate development, partnerships, and legal teams.
• Proficiency in responsibly using generative AI tools (e.g., LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) in daily workflows, including applying human-in-the-loop practices to improve efficiency, quality, and business outcomes.
