  • • As a Consultant for Business Analysis within Cardinal Health's Nuclear & Precision Health Solutions (NPHS) IT team, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between complex business needs and sophisticated IT solutions. This position is integral to ensuring that our technology investments directly support and drive the strategic objectives of the NPHS business unit, a critical component of Cardinal Health that manufactures and dispenses time-critical pharmaceuticals from over 150 locations across the U.S.
  • • You will be instrumental in defining and articulating requirements with precision, starting from high-level Epic problem statements and meticulously breaking them down into granular, development-ready user stories. This ensures that every piece of work aligns directly with stated product goals and contributes measurably to key product metrics, driving tangible business value.
  • • A core responsibility involves extracting and translating informal process descriptions from users into clear, actionable system designs. You will possess the unique ability to interpolate and clarify the needs of users and Product Owners, even when their initial descriptions are vague or incomplete, ensuring that the developed solutions accurately reflect desired outcomes.
  • • You will lead and facilitate requirements elicitation sessions, employing a diverse range of methodologies including in-depth interviews, thorough documentation analysis, targeted surveys, site visits, and collaborative business modeling. Your engagement will span across various stakeholders, from executives and managers to developers and subject matter experts, ensuring comprehensive understanding and buy-in.
  • • This role requires you to facilitate the team through complex business decision-making processes, providing insightful analysis and making well-reasoned recommendations that leverage both existing and emerging technologies.
  • • You will be a champion for Agile processes and continuous improvement within the team, actively contributing to the refinement of workflows and fostering a culture of efficiency and waste reduction.
  • • A significant aspect of your contribution will be to help prioritize and remove impediments that hinder team progress, while also coaching team members to develop their own problem-solving capabilities.
  • • Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with business stakeholders, customer groups, and internal IT teams is paramount. This involves making the team's work transparent, proactively managing change, and effectively addressing issues as they arise.
  • • You will be a key player in a continuous improvement culture, actively seeking opportunities to optimize processes and reduce waste within the NPHS IT function.
  • • Demonstrating thought leadership and mentoring junior team members will be encouraged, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • • You will ensure the team remains sharply focused on priorities, aligned with overarching strategy and roadmaps, and that backlog and release plans are meticulously maintained and communicated.
  • • Supporting the team in effectively communicating technical and quality priorities to Product Owners is crucial, ensuring that adequate investment is made in the team's delivery capabilities and the health of the technology stack.
  • • You will work closely with business Product Owners and other Cardinal Health IT teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in both front-end and back-end components, ensuring seamless delivery and integration of solutions.
  • • A deep understanding of the NPHS business is essential, enabling you to contribute to the development of thoughtful, complete, and impactful solutions that address specific business challenges and opportunities.
  • • You will contribute to maintaining the stability of existing systems while also identifying and implementing new technologies where they can provide demonstrable benefits and strategic advantages.
  • • Participation in special projects will be expected, aligning with the strategic priorities of Cardinal Health and the NPHS business unit.
  • • This role operates within a DevSecOps model, emphasizing collaboration, automation, and security throughout the software development lifecycle. You will be part of a product-centric team that values innovation and efficient delivery of custom-developed solutions, both for internal use and commercial offerings.
  • • You will be responsible for ensuring that the solutions developed not only meet immediate business requirements but also contribute to the long-term scalability, maintainability, and strategic vision of the NPHS technology landscape.
  • • The ability to translate complex technical concepts into easily understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders is a key aspect of this role, facilitating effective communication and decision-making across the organization.
  • • You will contribute to a culture of proactive problem-solving and continuous learning, staying abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in business analysis and IT solutions.
  • • This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on a critical business unit, driving innovation and efficiency through the strategic application of technology.
