  • • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients who are exploring medical cannabis as a treatment option for a wide range of gynaecological and related health concerns. You will leverage your extensive expertise to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care, contributing significantly to the evolution of this cutting-edge field.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to lead the management of symptoms for various women's health conditions, demonstrating a deep understanding of their complexities and the potential benefits of medical cannabis. This includes, but is not limited to, addressing:

  • • Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD): Managing severe symptoms like irritability, anger, anxiety, fatigue, and depressed mood.

  • • Chronic pain: Including migraines, back pain, nerve pain, and persistent pelvic pain.
  • • You will conduct comprehensive patient consultations, performing thorough assessments to understand individual needs and developing tailored ongoing management plans. This involves active listening, clinical judgment, and a patient-centred approach.
  • • A crucial aspect of this role is your engagement in clinical outcome data collection. By meticulously gathering and reporting data, you will directly contribute to building the evidence base for medical cannabis therapies, supporting best practices, and driving clinical research.
  • • You will actively participate in clinical governance activities, ensuring that the highest standards of patient care are consistently maintained. This includes adhering to protocols, contributing to quality improvement initiatives, and upholding ethical medical practice.
  • • Collaboration is key to our multidisciplinary approach. You will work effectively alongside nurses and pharmacists, fostering a supportive and integrated care environment. This teamwork ensures seamless patient journeys and optimal outcomes.
  • • Continuous learning and professional development are highly valued. You will be encouraged to participate in ongoing training, including bespoke specialist training in cannabis-based medicines (CBMPs), keeping you at the forefront of medical advancements in this field.
