- • As a Contracts Manager, Public Sector at Iron Mountain, you will play a critical role in supporting strategic government opportunities across Federal, State, Local, and Education (SLED) markets, ensuring compliant and effective contract lifecycle management that directly enables the company’s mission to deliver secure, sustainable information management solutions to public sector clients.
- • You will serve as a trusted advisor and operational lead in navigating complex government contracting environments, balancing legal rigor with business agility to drive successful outcomes while upholding Iron Mountain’s standards of integrity, compliance, and innovation.
- • Day to day, you will manage the full contract lifecycle—from initial proposal development and quote generation through negotiation, award, change orders, modifications, ongoing administration, and final closeout—ensuring all actions align with federal and SLED regulations and internal policies.
- • You will draft, edit, and revise contractual agreements using pre-approved templates and standard terms, while identifying when escalation to legal or senior management is required for non-standard provisions, ensuring all language is precise, enforceable, and compliant.
- • You will conduct thorough reviews of terms and conditions against FAR, GSAR, DFARS, agency-specific supplements, and Executive Orders, providing expert guidance on compliance risks and recommending mitigation strategies to legal, finance, and business stakeholders.
- • You will perform proactive risk assessments to identify contractual, financial, operational, and regulatory exposures, collaborating cross-functionally to resolve issues before they escalate and advising on pricing strategies and solicitation responses that meet both customer needs and corporate objectives.
- • You will act as the primary liaison between Iron Mountain and government contracting officers at the Federal, State, Local, and Education levels, building and nurturing long-term relationships that enhance trust, improve win rates, and position the company as a preferred vendor.
- • You will continuously evaluate existing contract management processes, recommend improvements for efficiency and scalability, and mentor junior team members by providing guidance, training, and leadership on best practices in public sector contracting.
- • You will partner closely with legal, finance, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment on deal structure, approval workflows, and compliance checkpoints, contributing to a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in federal acquisition regulations (FAR), GSA Schedules, and SLED procurement frameworks while developing advanced skills in contract negotiation, risk management, and stakeholder influence—positioning you for senior leadership opportunities in government contracts or corporate legal/compliance functions.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including at least 6 years of direct experience in public sector contracts (Federal, State, Local, or Education).
- • Proven experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), GSAR, DFARS, and agency-specific regulations, including hands-on work with FAR Part 12 (commercial items) and GSA Federal Supply Schedules.
- • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume, complex contract lifecycles independently, with strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- • NCMA certification (CPCM, CFCM, or equivalent) is highly desirable; uncompromising integrity, dependability, and meticulous attention to detail are required.
