Full Job Description
đ Description
- ⢠Architect the future of global finance: You will design, implement, and continuously refine a modern, scalable accounting framework that spans multiple U.S. and Mexican entities, handles multi-currency transactions, and consolidates data in real time. QuickBooks Online will be your core engine, but you will integrate it with Salesforce, Funraise, Stripe, Bill.com, Divvy, AMEX, Rippling, Plane, and a network of international banks to create a single source of truth.
- ⢠Own the monthly close from soup to nuts: You will lead the full month-end close for every subsidiary and the consolidated global viewâreconciling cash, investments, inter-company eliminations, revenue recognition, prepaid, accrued, and fixed-asset schedulesâso that leadership receives accurate statements and insightful variance commentary by the 5th business day every month.
- ⢠Build and mentor a borderless team: Today the accounting function is a hybrid of U.S. and Mexico-based outsourced partners. You will evaluate, coach, andâwhere necessaryâhire to create a lean, high-performing internal team that can scale with 100 % accuracy while nurturing a culture of curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning.
- ⢠Guard the gates of compliance: You will quarterback all external audits (financial and tax), prepare the annual U.S. Form 990 and state charity filings, coordinate with Mexican CPAs on SAT obligations, and ensure payroll tax compliance in both countries. Your documentation will be so airtight that auditors ask for you by name.
- ⢠Engineer bullet-proof processes: From purchase-order inception to final wire, you will map every workflow, embed segregation-of-duties controls, and automate repetitive tasks with AI and low-code tools so that the team spends its time on analysis, not data entry.
- ⢠Translate numbers into narrative: You will partner with the CFO to turn raw data into board-ready KPIs, scenario models, and cash-flow forecasts that inform land acquisition timing, philanthropic fundraising targets, and private-investment closes.
- ⢠Run global payroll like clockwork: Using Rippling and Plane, you will oversee semi-monthly payroll for 60+ employees and contractors across the U.S. and Mexico, ensuring statutory withholdings, equity compensation, and supplemental bonuses are flawless and on time.
- ⢠Master the revenue maze: Philanthropic gifts, recoverable grants, land sales, developer fees, and investment returns all hit the books differently. You will design revenue-recognition policies that satisfy GAAP, FASB, and IRS rules while remaining simple enough for non-finance teammates to understand.
- ⢠Be the go-to risk radar: You will monitor foreign-exchange exposure, interest-rate risk, insurance renewals, and evolving tax treaties so that leadership can price land deals and structure investments with confidence.
- ⢠Champion our mission in every detail: Whether you are reviewing a $5 vendor invoice or a $5 M development draw, you will remember that every decimal point ultimately builds a safe, dignified home for a family who has never had one.
- ⢠Travel to the field 8â10 times per year: You will spend time in Mexico City headquarters and occasionally visit project sites so that the numbers on your screen are connected to the concrete, steel, and smiles they represent.
