📋 Description

• As a Corporate Counsel, New Ventures at DraftKings, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal foundation for innovative products like DraftKings Predictions, ensuring that emerging technologies and financial services are brought to market responsibly and in compliance with evolving regulations. Your work will directly enable innovation while managing risk in high-growth, regulated areas of the business.
• Day to day, you will serve as a legal partner for DraftKings Predictions and other New Ventures products, analyzing novel legal and regulatory issues in financial services and consumer-facing digital products, providing proactive legal advice across the product lifecycle from ideation to launch and iteration, collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, Revenue Operations, IT, Compliance, and other teams, translating complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance for technical and non-legal audiences, monitoring and interpreting emerging laws and trends in financial and product regulation, coordinating with internal Legal team members and outside counsel to ensure thorough and business-aligned support, and contributing to the development of scalable processes and playbooks for delivering legal guidance across the New Ventures portfolio.
• You will join a dynamic, forward-thinking Legal team at DraftKings, a publicly traded (NASDAQ: DKNG) technology company headquartered in Boston, where innovation is embraced and emerging technologies like AI are actively integrated into operations to enhance customer experiences and streamline workflows. The New Ventures team is focused on building the future of gaming and digital entertainment, and you will be a key enabler of responsible innovation in this fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in financial regulation, product counseling, and emerging technology law while developing cross-functional leadership skills, gaining experience in scaling legal support for innovative products, and positioning yourself at the forefront of legal strategy in the intersection of gaming, fintech, and digital products. You will have the opportunity to influence how DraftKings brings bold new ideas to market while maintaining compliance and managing risk.

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited institution with excellent academic credentials.
• At least four years of legal experience, ideally a mix of law firm and in-house or government/regulatory work.
• Experience with financial regulation, consumer protection law, product counseling, or adjacent areas.
• Demonstrated ability to support product teams and advise on complex, evolving regulatory questions.
• Clear, concise communication skills with a strong ability to advise cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and a bias toward learning, especially in ambiguous or novel legal areas.
• Team-first mindset with a willingness to collaborate, share knowledge, and support a growing function.
• Experience working in fast-paced, highly regulated, or tech-driven industries is a plus.

• Competitive US base salary range of $160,800.00 - $201,000.00 USD, plus bonus and equity.
