We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Corporate Development Associate to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping Kraken's strategic growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
- • In this critical role, you will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic acquisition opportunities that align with Kraken's overarching mission and business objectives. You will dive deep into the cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem, identifying potential targets that can enhance our product offerings, expand our market reach, or strengthen our competitive position. This involves proactively sourcing and engaging with potential acquisition prospects, conducting thorough due diligence, and collaborating closely with a diverse range of internal stakeholders.
- • Your responsibilities will encompass managing the end-to-end acquisition assessment process. This includes working hand-in-hand with cross-functional diligence teams spanning product, engineering, finance, legal, marketing, and operations to meticulously evaluate potential targets. You will be responsible for building sophisticated financial models to support valuation analyses, developing compelling investment memos that articulate the strategic rationale and financial implications of proposed deals, and crafting persuasive presentations for senior leadership to facilitate informed decision-making.
- • A key aspect of this role involves contributing to the strategic planning and execution of M&A initiatives. You will help establish key performance indicators and benchmarks for post-integration planning, ensuring that acquired entities are seamlessly integrated into Kraken's operations and culture. Furthermore, you will serve as an industry expert, staying abreast of the latest trends, disruptors, and competitive dynamics within the crypto and blockchain space. This may involve attending select industry events to represent Kraken and identify emerging opportunities.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial markets, valuation methodologies, and deal structuring. You will leverage your analytical prowess to assess business models, evaluate financial health, and project future growth potential. Your ability to conduct strategic research and synthesize complex information into actionable insights will be crucial. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the growth and strategic direction of one of the world's leading cryptocurrency exchanges, working in a fast-paced, innovative, and globally distributed environment.

You will present your findings and recommendations to executive leadership, influencing strategic decisions and driving the M&A agenda forward. This position demands a proactive, results-oriented individual with a passion for the cryptocurrency industry and a proven track record in corporate development or a related field. 🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Management, Finance, or a related field plus 4 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, strategy consulting, private equity, venture capital, or related experience.
- • Demonstrated experience in evaluating acquisitions or blocks of business in a strategic and financial manner.
- • Proven ability in building sophisticated financial models (e.g., DCF, statistical, market data models).
- • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and experience with financial analysis, including evaluating business models, financials, and growth potential.
- • Experience with strategic research, assessing market trends, disruptors, and competitive dynamics, and deal execution, including drafting high-quality deal memos and strategic presentations predicated on financial analysis.
- • Excellent presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences, and experience working collaboratively with cross-functional partners across finance, legal, product, and operations teams.
