- • Corporate Development Associate (M&A Business Development) at Valsoft Corporation’s Aspire Software group plays a pivotal role in identifying and sourcing acquisition targets for a global portfolio of vertical market software companies. This role is critical to sustaining Aspire Software’s aggressive growth strategy, having acquired 150+ software companies across 20+ countries since 2015, by serving as the frontline engine for deal origination and relationship building with founders, operators, and advisors in the software ecosystem.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting deep market research on vertical market software companies and adjacent sectors to build and refresh target lists using public and proprietary data sources; executing proactive multi-channel outreach campaigns via email, LinkedIn, phone, and industry events to engage founders and executives; qualifying new acquisition opportunities against Aspire Software’s investment criteria while maintaining a healthy pipeline of prospects; building trusted relationships with entrepreneurs, intermediaries, and advisors through introductory conversations and ongoing engagement to understand seller motivations and strategic goals; maintaining accurate deal records, tracking outreach metrics, and pipeline health in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce); supporting early-stage evaluation of potential acquisitions by assessing market positioning, product fit, and ownership dynamics; and assisting with coordination of meetings, diligence requests, and internal reviews as opportunities advance.
- • The Aspire Software team operates as an entrepreneurial, decentralized unit within Valsoft Corporation, leveraging shared expertise, leadership, and operational support across a global network of acquired software businesses. - • In this role, you will develop advanced skills in deal sourcing, market mapping, and relationship-driven business development within the software M&A landscape; gain hands-on experience in evaluating SaaS and vertical software businesses; build a robust professional network of founders, advisors, and intermediaries; sharpen financial literacy and CRM discipline; and position yourself for accelerated growth into senior corporate development, investment, or leadership roles within a high-velocity acquirer of mission-critical software.
🎯 Requirements
- • 1–4 years of experience in deal origination from corporate development, investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital, or B2B business development
- • Demonstrated ability to generate leads, build relationships, and initiate conversations with senior stakeholders, including founders and executives
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate Aspire Software’s acquisition philosophy and value proposition clearly
- • Experience maintaining structured pipelines in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), comfort with LinkedIn, Excel/PowerPoint, and research platforms
- • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally approximately 10–20% for meetings and industry events
