  • • Records new loans, renewal loans, and complex loan modifications in the loan accounting system by reviewing loan origination documents, boarding sheets, and terms to ensure accurate data entry.
  • • Performs peer reviews of new loan setups, renewals, and modifications by comparing source documents to the loan accounting system to verify accuracy and compliance.
  • • Records deferred loan fees and associated costs in accordance with FASB91 guidelines and processes various loan-related fees.
  • • Reconciles customer receivable and payable accounts, including general ledger holding accounts, monitoring balances and activity to ensure timely resolution and accuracy.
  • • Enters payments, disbursements, and adjusting entries into the loan accounting system, verifying each posting and preparing correcting entries when discrepancies arise.
  • • Monitors, researches, and resolves past-due loan accounts, applying generally accepted accounting principles to identify and correct issues.
  • • Performs non-routine accounting transactions including non-accrual accounting, loan restructures, and forbearance agreements as needed.
  • • Serves as a liaison between customers, participating Farm Credit institutions, and commercial banks to resolve accounting and loan-related inquiries.
  • • Provides accurate and timely responses to internal and external inquiries, demonstrating high standards of customer service and communication.
  • • Assists in training other loan accounting team members on accounting procedures, system usage, and compliance requirements.
  • • Maintains strict adherence to accounting standards and internal controls while managing high volumes of loan transactions with precision and timeliness.
  • • Works independently under general supervision of the Loan Accounting Manager, making decisions based on GAAP and organizational policies without direct supervision.
  • • May be required to perform additional duties as assigned, including occasional weekend or evening work to meet operational deadlines.
  • • Operates in a remote environment with full access to digital tools and systems; occasional travel may be required for team meetings or training sessions.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting, or equivalent general accounting or loan accounting experience
  • • Minimum 3 years of general accounting experience; loan accounting experience preferred
  • • Proficiency in automated accounting software applications, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email
  • • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet strict deadlines
