📋 Description

• Join the corporate governance legal team at Kraken, a mission-driven cryptocurrency exchange dedicated to accelerating global adoption of crypto and blockchain technology to enable financial freedom and inclusion.
• Lead legal work for domestic and international corporate governance, regulatory compliance, international registrations, and management of subsidiary entities; collaborate with executives and cross-functional teams in legal, tax, HR, treasury, and finance on corporate structuring and compliance matters.
• Contribute to building organizational structure, playbooks, and processes for a growing corporate legal team; review and collaborate with compliance professionals on AML, KYC/UBO, and other regulatory requirements.
• Support corporate development activities including mergers and acquisitions and strategic partnerships; provide innovative legal solutions that enhance business optionality through proactive, entrepreneurial, and team-oriented counsel.
• As a fully remote company with team members in 70+ countries speaking over 50 languages, you’ll work alongside industry pioneers developing premium crypto products for traders, institutions, and newcomers while upholding industry-leading security, education, and client support standards.

🎯 Requirements

• JD from a well-regarded law school and active membership in good standing with a US state bar
• 3+ years of dedicated corporate legal experience supporting boards and board governance, including statutory obligations, board composition, meeting management, and governance best practices
• 6+ years of overall relevant experience in corporate law, including a mix of in-house and law firm roles, with exposure to regulated industries and high-growth technology companies
