📋 Description

  • Spearhead all financial activities within Australia/New Zealand, taking ownership of the country's financial health and strategic direction.
  • Develop and implement robust financial strategies that align with Deel's global objectives and support the rapid scaling of our operations in the region.
  • Oversee and meticulously manage all accounting functions, ensuring adherence to local regulations and international financial standards.
  • Drive improvements in period-end closing processes, aiming for greater efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Prepare and manage all ledger entries with precision, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
  • Oversee and ensure the accurate preparation of payroll, tax benefits, and contributions reports, liaising with regulatory bodies such as social security tax authorities, insurance providers, and pension companies.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including intercompany transactions, banking activities, customer accounts, vendor payables, and accruals, guaranteeing the accuracy and compliance of financial statements.
  • Monitor day-to-day financial transactions diligently, maintaining up-to-date financial records and books.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial and administrative reports, providing critical insights to stakeholders and management.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate submission of all required tax filings, including VAT, Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Social Security contributions, and any other relevant local taxes.
  • Collaborate closely with the local Payroll Manager to ensure the accuracy of payroll calculations, providing guidance and oversight.
  • Play a key role in the selection and integration of payroll software, optimizing the payroll process for efficiency and compliance.
  • Proactively address and resolve any issues related to payroll information and reporting, maintaining a high level of accuracy and employee satisfaction.
  • Act as the primary financial point of contact for the Australia/New Zealand region, building strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of internal financial controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks, providing actionable recommendations to senior management.
  • Support the broader finance team with ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
  • Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards in Australia and New Zealand, ensuring Deel remains compliant.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function, seeking out innovative solutions to enhance processes and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the strategic financial planning and budgeting processes for the region, providing data-driven insights and forecasts.
  • Ensure all financial operations are conducted with the highest ethical standards and integrity.
